Now that Dansby is gone, does that open up a spot for him to see some valuable PT this coming season?

What kind of impact can he make in their system?

The official Cardinals website has done a few good writeups on him lately -

I think one of the reasons they let Dansby go was because they felt Minter could fill that role.

He will be a starter, make all-pro for 10 years straight, retire, become HOF in first ballot.

Second-year linebacker in line to step in for departed Dansby

His preparedness for that role comes in part because of Dansby. Watching the veteran last season meant enough that Minter reached out to Dansby after Dansby signed with Cleveland, to let him know he appreciated all Dansby had taught him.

quote:

Minter isn’t worried about being the next Dansby. He knows he run with a high motor. He believes he has improved in his coverage skills and is better at it than people think. Rather than being nervous about stepping into a defense that was sixth-ranked in the NFL last season, he is anxious to get started.
His second-round status underscores “they expect a lot from me.” Minter would have liked to play more as a rookie but he understands now why players grow so much between their rookie and second season because he got to see first-hand what needs to be done to be successful.
That’s what Dansby did last year. Now, here comes Minter.
“The position isn’t mine yet, it’s a competition,” Minter said. “But with what I can do and how I am preparing for this offseason, I feel I will turn some heads.”

Go Get Em Minter!

Subject is a bit miss leading. Makes it seem like this is all past tense, like he is done.

Maybe change it to "what is happening"

Don't worry. They will be a few years from now when The Big 3 (Pat Pete, TM & Minter) lead them to the ship

No way, form or fashion a bust. He played a TOTAL of ONE DEFENSIVE SNAP last year. He had damn near all of his PT on special teams. He barely saw actual PT because the combo of Daryl Washington & Karlos Dansby was one of the best in the league in last year. This year he's is expected to the backup of Washington now that Dansby got that huge deal with Cleveland.

Just for the record, I'm fine with his career starting like that. That way he gained experience from both a veteran and a young star. Both physical and mentally. He has all the tools needed, just waiting for his moment. And according to that article, his moment may be this year! That would help LSU even more in the recruiting game.

He's starting this season.

Arizona made a smart move to take him. And a very good move. They knew Dansby would be gone in 1 season. And Daryl Washington has had off the field issues and could miss games. Minter was a top LB in the draft last year and they got him in the 2nd. He's a tackling machine that is very instinctive and physical, and a better athlete than people realize. He's got some really good lateral speed. They took him, let him learn behind a great pro in Dansby, and then let him take over once Dansby is gone. He will be fine.

I remember reading an article about Minter last preseason. They had to hold him out of some drills in mini camp because he was blowing people up. They really really like him. And he's the main reason they were comfortable letting Dansby walk. Their GM really likes Minter.

Cardinal fan here.

I am excited to see him on the field. It is also possible that Craig Loston could be in our secondary as well.

Tyrann, Antionio Cromartie, Patrick, Craig, That is nasty.
