No one is anti Coach O. Hell, LSU fans hope the man goes 15-0 this coming yr.

A lot of us are anti the hiring process which decided he was the best option in all of college football to lead LSU to the playoffs. Personally, that, since Oct. 2016, seems to be a valid concern.

I felt much the same way when Miles was hired in 05 When he went 11-2, Top 5 ranked, and west champs I changed my opinion. When Coach O has elite like success, I will forget his Old Miss failure and stumbles at LSU. Till then, I will have concerns bout the hire.

while I applaud your enthusiasm and faithful backing of LSU football I think you are premature in your exuberance. I was only mildly disappointed in O getting the job and have really liked most of his moves so far. it APPEARS that he has stopped the decline of our program and is moving in the right direction. I like his emphasize on the trenches in recruiting but question his recruiting at RB and QB.

to keep his job coach O is going to have to IMPROVE the program to one that challenges for the SEC title almost every year and one that wins the title about once every 4 or 5 years or so. we were only 1 SEC win away this year (bama) but we really did not come close to winning that game. a 7-1 record, beating bama, will win the west. the problem, of course is beating bama and having the depth to win the remainder of the games; the SEC is a damn physical conference and we will have injuries.

imo, coach O is approaching the retooling of the tool in a very intelligent manner (so far) so I am optimistic. our expectations are high. we have to get where we field a good defense, good offense and good special teams in the same year. to win the west it is ESSENTIAL to have a QB that helps you win the tough games. that, sir, is a huge hurdle. we need a break and sign a special QB. maybe it's Brennen or Narcisse but if it isn't we are just a 9 or 10 win team and I don't think that will do it.

i'm pulling for Orgeron. I think he'll be a great story if the local guy does good and the guy that had a rocky earlier career matures into a top coach.

it's time to let that "job search" issue to rest. it's ancient history now. it is no longer a valid concern. none of us know the REAL BACKGROUND of that search as the real FACTS never surfaced. I seriously doubt Alleva only had fisher, then herman as his candidates. I do feel that his other candidates were not interested (for whatever reason) were not ready to make the move. use you common sense. example: if Grundy at Okie light was interested in the job but was making about 5 mil already and his position was stable, why make the move to the SEC west where expectations are so much higher? and we would have had to pay him enough to take that risk. hiring successful coaches is not easy and the timing must be just right. yea, the aggies got their man; the timing was right and they had to guarantee 75 million to pull it off. crazy, risky move that was.

Of course, we will be undefeated and likely ranked top 10. With that the pressure will be continuously through the roof until that fateful night the first week of November.

Rickydaddy is big time anti orgeron.... he has been waiting all season to bash O.... he has only one positive thing to say about the man and that's that he kept the recruiting class together... ZERO credit for anything since he took over for Miles last season.... I am not sold on the hire but it could be worse... we could all be Vandy fans......

Yeah, this is TOTAL bullshite.

This linked thread is an example. People unhappy and bitching about Coach Eaux having the #1 OT, #2 OG and #1 WDE JUCO players committed. The 2nd response is a troll personally attacking me for my post and I didn't even say a word. I just posted someone's tweet and a link.

Is all of this hate because of the hiring process? Hell NO.

LSU GrandDad

Being a Grand Dad and I so enjoy taking my grands to a game let me say I am just a fan. I don't over think it and enjoy it as it rolls out.

I have a understanding that there are over 100 teams every year trying to win and I go into the season desiring to win every game. No new hire of a coach is a sure thing and most normal folk know it is just a wait and watch and see.

I live a happy life and if I didn't enjoy LSU football I would not come to this site.

I know when it's time to fire someone - Les lost most of me in Jan of 2012. We held on to him 2 years to long. At this moment CEO is our coach and did get off to a rocky start at MSU. I was at the Troy game but since then I like how he has pulled it together. I am not that worried about Norte Dame or Miami but beating Auburn at Auburn will set the 2018 season.

this thread is locked. probably because of an inadequate subject line. You might change that and see if it becomes unlocked.

Might try "What if Coach wins his next four games?" or something similar.

It will be time to let that issue rest when Coach O proves he's up for the challenge to make LSU relevant again on the SEC and national scene. He had the chance to do that somewhat last yr. but stumbled at home vs. a undermanned Fla. and this yr. against a even more undermanned Troy. And that doesn't even speak to the Miss. St. cluster. Joe put Coach in this position by hiring a guy with a highly questionable head coaching history. Blaming fans for reasonable concerns or wanting them to shut up seems silly to me, but each to our own.

After the past 17 yrs. of LSU football, the idea LSU is not as bad a Vandy doesn't really float my boat much.

Look, there will always be LSU fans unhappy bout something. I honestly think most LSU fans don't care who the coach is or the QB or the OC or the DC as long at the team is highly successful AND beats Bama.

Well, since those games won't secure the SEC west or a playoff spot...

No, we won't give it a rest.

There will still be 9 games left next season.
