Get it through your thick skulls it aint the OC it's Nuss. He can throw really well and had a great game yesterday but it aint enough any more. Bigger question is why you are not blaming Baker instead of Sloan. Fools.

As for the RPO…nobody buys what we are selling. If Nuss was a running threat, fine.

OMG not this shite again

a QB does NOT have to run in a normal vertical RPO. it is either hand off to a back or pass. STOP mixing up the ZONE READ with RPO.

This has been discussed ad infinitum here.

RPOs are not zone reads/read options

Btw people in Ruston that know Sloan and his offensive philosophy believe Kelly has a grip on the offense and that Sloan is taking the heat for what is really Brian Kelly’s offense.

Take that for what it’s worth, but I guess we will find out when Sloan is an OC somewhere else next year.

Sloan is handcuffed with a turnover machine and he has to call the game accordingly. Bill Walsh could be the OC and it wouldn't be much better;

Harlem Berry is on a pitch count. Look at his body type he is not an every down back;

The OL is bad. 90% of HS linemen don't practice run blocking....ever. We need to do a better job of evaluating talent;

Harold Perkins. Bust.

Nuss is not athletic enough to play under center. And even if he were being that close to the defense would terrify him.

He is obsessed with throwing to wide outs in the flat, either on screens, or just in an attempt to get a 1 on 1 matchup on a quick hitter where your receiver has to make a guy miss. This was cool when it happened against Clemson three plays in a row, but here we are weeks later and teams have obviously seen the film.

4min left in the ball game. Must score drive. We come out and throw a WR screen that gets blown up. Now we had been doing that all night against Vandy when they were playing off coverage. Does Sloan not realize they have coaches too and they prob told them when u play off coverage and you don’t see the WR move off the line then CRASH DOWN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. running a fake screen right there with one of the blockers fake blocking then running a fade prob scores a touchdown but that’s what a good OC would call who knows how to gameplan.

I said it last year that the RPO was ill suited for Nussmeier because he's not a runner

another football ignorant dumbass who thinks a RPO is a ZONE READ.

see my post above and educate yourself man.

when we run RPO nuss running is not an option. we are not running denbrocks horizontal RPO with a 3rd option that being to run.

we run basic vertical RPO with NUSS where him running is NOT an option once he reads the box. he either decides to hand off or throw based on the read.

its possible that what kelly likes on offense doesnt work any more with the lack of roster continuity and limited practice time. So others programs are running simpler and more dynamic systems but LSU is stuck with a pocket passer with very little poise running an offense with no identity

so Sloan is stuck throwing spaghetti against the wall

keep in mind the few things LSU does well are on film and teams know what is coming based on glaring keys and tendencies

This is a quality and informative post. Thanks for this. Instead of another emotional tantrum post about how BK kicks puppies.

All these problems and the head coach isn’t one of them?

OP is talking football. We have a hundred other threads about BK. Some of us want to talk football and not just keep wailing about the HC who we can’t afford to fire anyway.

Dear Fat Thickskull,

I am told I am beautiful when I am angry. Thanks for your intelligent explanation as to why our offense sucks and our defense couldnt contain Pavia.

Thanks for your attention to to this matter.
