2008 and 1/9 (which was as frustrating as an entire year of bad coaching)

Since 1/9 fell in 2012, I will have to go with 2012 as well

2014 for me. We have the #1 defense in the SEC except when they completely shite the bed at big moments. And the whole situation with the QB is inexcusable and entirely avoidable.
If they don't compete for a playoff spot this season, I'm throwing it in the mix. Talent on this team alone is worth double digit wins.

quote:Yeah, but what's also happened since that time is that the rest of the division has started to catch up to us. For a while, there were generally only 2 contenders for the division in any given year. Now the other teams are luring in top talent, and they've gotten much better coaches. So the gaps between us & them have either gotten much smaller, or have dissolved completely. It's a hell of a lot more competitive now than it's ever been, and if Miles doesn't make some drastic changes to the offensive situation, we will soon be an also-ran.
has to be last year, but started in the natl championship game against alabama

any year LSU doesn't play for SEC championship is a bad year.

'08 by a landslide. Yes they had to break in young QB's (Sound familiar) but you had Senior and Junior leadership all over the place which won the national title the year before. The whole country realized that, which accounted for LSU being in everyone's top 5-10. The poor selection of settling for Maloveto to run the defense was the major culprit, allowing opponents to open up leads and forcing the freshmen QB's to make too many plays. Last season, knowing that there would be 20+ freshmen being major contributors, very few people picked the team to win more than 9 games, which of course was all but done before blowing the ND game.

It was 2008 without a doubt imo. RP couldve saved the day but co defensive coordinators has to work or u get the blame as the HC.
2012- LSU was absolutely loaded even without the Honey Badger. Losing 3 OL the week of the Florida game in the swamp was bad timing. (And some still think scheduling doesnt matter)
Florida's defense was outstanding that year and very physical. Lsu wouldnt have scored a TD if they played twice that day. Minter also caught the cramps that game at the wrong time and Florida drove str8 down the field before he returned.
The Bama game was ours and its still hard to believe we lost that game. Im still not over that one. Beating Georgia wouldve been a task but we wouldve been slightly favored. LSu couldve easily went back to back but instead Alabama became the nations darling.
Hard to say this was a bad yr of coaching. U lose 3 OL at the beginning of SEC play and it takes only one week to get the chemistry back.
U dominate the team that ended up winning the title and have zero turnovers that game.
Sometimes the football gods look the other way.

not RP being such a piece of shite he got kicked off the team and Lee going into Pick 6 all day mode?
Yes that too but even in those games our defense gave up monstrous scores and yardage. The Co defensive cood, experiment killed us in 08
