What happens to roster when coach is fired?

Can someone explain how this works?
With Coach O being let go, how does that affect the current roster? Are they allowed to leave without penalty? I guess the transfer portal changes this anyways. But how does Coach O leaving hurt us for 2022 season?

Losing some is inevitable. While we may lose some when O leaves, the new coach will bring some additions.

you talking coaches ort players?
coaches most always have clauses in contracts they are free to leave if the HC is fired or quits
as far as players they will always do what they think is in their best interests. entering the portal doesnt mean they are gone, it just gives them every option to decide if they want to leave and if you make a good HC hire then most will withdraw from the portal to stay if they can start
a great HC hire will bring in far more transfers to improve this team then the ones who choose to leave that most likely werent going to be starting for a new HC any way

Then why is he still coaching? I have never seen a situation where the coach is fired at the end of the season but is still allowed to coach 6 more games.
