I don't know if I'd go that far. Peyton's surrounding cast at UT was probably superior to what would have surrounded him at LSU at the time, and they even laid a few eggs when he was there. I think that just because we finally started finishing above .500 after years of not doing so, people tend to look back on the DiNardo years with a little too much nostalgia and forget our place in the SEC pecking order at the time.
