That would make another meltdown unless he goes off this week and looks better then Peyton Manning.

Dumbass post...first you ask what is wrong with our offense, then you say you don't see anything wrong with it...make up your mind...and post less...especially needless ones...

Lee experienced a lot of challenges in his career here and seems to have some character strength. I don't think he would be discouraged if things don't go as well for him, but I don't see that happening vs. Kentucky.

we are talking about the performance of our offense the past two seasons under JJ. You are trying to bring up shite about 2008

Why exclude 2008?

We had three years of bad offenses.

Richard Dickson will tell you that he's pretty sure JJ doesn't know that the TE is an eligible receiver.

As an insurance policy, I sure would like having a QB who could come in and move the chains on third and medium or long, when all receivers are covered

you expect JJ to convert 3rd and medium or 3rd and long?

We've played 3 top 25 teams in our first four games.

But none of which, as pointed out, have truly elite defenses. The fact is LSU has the 66th rushing offense in the country and the 62nd passing offense in the country (both based on yards per carry/attempt). Combined, we are 88th in offensive yards per play. As long as we keep getting short fields this is no big deal. But this is not a top tier offense, at least so far.

GEE ZUS...we have two guys on track possibly to get 1000 yards each or close to it...some people.
It's troubling to regress from the previous year by 1/2ypc. Being on track doesn't mean anything since we haven't seen the best of Ds yet.

It had to be the best of the 3 though. Seemed to remember Charles Scott running well, and points being put on the board.

It was all offset with the turnovers, and no defense to back it up.

Exactly!!!

Its a whole different mind set when you have to prepare for a verticle AND a horizontal game!!!
Can't overlook any possibility. Muschamp,Nicky, and the boys sure won't.

Our only problems are that some players on the team want JJ to start.

And how do you know that?

I think he is taking the post out of context or maybe you should be able to read between the lines????

Sure, because there are lots of carries to go around, because we run the ball a very high percentage of the time. Yards per play is a more important indicator than total yards - see, for example, Geno Smith. He threw for 450+ yards but his yards per attempt wasn't that good, which is a major reason they only scored 21 points.

Right now we're 66th in the country in yards per carry, beneath teams like Vandy and Buffalo. Some of that is due to strength of schedule, but 66th is not the position of an elite rushing offense by any means. There's definitely room for improvement.

Good god some people are dumb. LSU is a VERY BALANCED team......there are many teams out there than run only. Just curious....who has a better rushing attack, MSU or LSU? I mean that is some of the teams ahead of lsu....use your brain and your eyes......and factor in schedule and balance...and you may get a clue.

I know you're trying to be funny, but for once take part in a thread and talk football.

Given the circumstance that our one, primary receiver (and that is all we have thrown to for years) is covered on a third and medium or long, do we have a QB outside of Jefferson that can run for that first down?

How many times in our MNC seasons did this happen to keep scoring drives alive that were the difference in the game?

Did JJ run for 3 first downs on 3rd and 10 or greater in the Cotton Bowl?

I'm guessing you are just trying to be funny, but I went ahead and replied for the benefit of other readers.

This does not mean I am in support of JJ over Lee as the starter.

What if JJ comes out and has shown just as much improvement as JL?. What are the haters going to say then? So many people are disregarding him before he even steps on the fields.

I would be willing to bet more people want him to fail than succeed. That is wrong.

Meh.

TEs caught 15% of our passes in 2008. They caught 14% of our passes in 2009 and 2010.

Hardly a difference.

ETA: For comparisons' sake, TEs have caught 12.5% of our passes this year.

Not really.

It benefited from being behind in games.

LM mentioned JJ's skill set.
IDK even know what that means.

I can think of 5 different players Id rather have those touches that JJ could possibly take away
You don't understand football and the holes spread option plays open up for those other 5 players.
You don't understand how DCs dislike all out blitzing dual threat QBs.
All you understand is your hero is QB and JJ is some percieved threat to unseating him.
If the O can't move the ball, I think you would rather see LSU lose games with Lee than try something different with JJ.
