What does Charlie Leonard bring to the table as an assistant?

I am as pissed and disappointed as the rest of our loyal tiger brethren, but ultimately Jones deserves sufficient time to rite the ship and bring in a few of his recruiting classes, even if we have underachieved up to this point. I have heard "we set our expectations too high" quite a bit, but an NCAA bid this season was very reasonable. My God the Georgia Bulldogs are sitting at third in the conference.
With that said, it seems pretty evident Coach Jones needs assistance revamping our defense, meaning it's likely a head needs to roll on our staff. Maybe I'm not seeing the entire scope of the situation, but I still love the recruiting synergy David Patrick, Jones, and Mccray bring to the table...so I am going to pick on Charlier Leonard. Is it safe to say we should ask Coach Leonard to retire after this season, or is there something I don't know about him that leads me to believe that would be an awful idea?
here's to the rest of the season

I just don't see any way Mccray is shown the door if his AAU connections are as strong as we think

I confess to knot knowing much about him. I just know johnny and patrick are pretty untouchable

leaonard has been with johnny since memphis i believe. patrick and mccray earn their keep as recruiters. coaches are stubborn and stick to their guys (see johnson, trent) hopefully there is indeed some help on the way and leonard can move into some kind of admin role.

I Gotcha. Yeah, I knew he was old which is why I proposed "retirement", but I overlooked the traditional administration role.
I wish we had our football sized budget so we could go out and hire UVA's defensive assistant

Nobody can coach defense with our guards. Especially with the new rules. If a 5'8'' guard isnt allowed to handcheck, well, the results are obvious.
