I like Skip's line about the tornado in Starkville. They really did have a tornado during one of the baseball regionals there some years ago that forced everyone to take cover. Skip said the tornado caused $1,000,000.00 worth of improvements.

The funniest part of the story, to me, is a #1 pick in the MLB draft chirping at a kid's softball ump.

I don't know about that. Skip can be an a-hole when he needs to be but Spurrier is on another level.

Skip had the great sense of humor of Steve Spurrier but with a much nicer disposition. He liked to needle people but didn't take great pride in pissing them off like Spurrier did. But Spurrier could be hilarious. My favorite Spurrier line was when he was speaking to a U.F. Alumni group when Fla. St. and Bobby Bowden were caught in a scandal giving tons of free shoes to the players. He coined the phrase Free Shoes University (FSU). He said that he (Spurrier) used to be the most hated Gator in Tallahassee, but that he was not anymore. Now it is the Investi-Gator.
