Found this a little earlier, brought back some really unpleasant memories. I was a Miles "apolgist" then, as called out in the following. A year later, I'm not so alone! BTW, the emphasis in the quote is mine.

Posted by MLA, on NOLA.com, last year in response to an article written after the Tennessee game LINK

quote:

@Ponchatoula P, many of us here at LSU take no pleasure in criticizing Les Miles but we ARE concerned about the direction of the LSU football program. Les Miles past record has no correlation what-so-ever as to the future of this program. Need I remind you that we are 5-0 against no one ranked in the Top 25? Does anyone need to mention that we started out 4-0 & 5-0, respectively in 2008 & 2009 only to lose to Florida and finish 4-5 and 4-4? Beating MS St., Vanderbilt, unranked OOC teams and Louisiana sister schools is not what we pay our Coach $3.751 million (plus bonuses) a year, to do. We pay him to be competitive in the SEC West and compete for the SEC Championship, every year. But more than that, we pay him to represent this University and trust him with the direction of the program. We have become a joke in the National media... the only coverage that we have been receiving is negative, at best. We remain stagnate in the polls because we are perceived to be an incompetent program, even with the 5-0 record which we hear from Miles apologist over & over. We are also deeply concerned that recruiting has already began to suffer the ill effects of an impotent offense and deficient coaching. The elite athletes will continue to look elsewhere. You will not see me criticizing the players, but I do hold the coaches accountable. I am on record of being a huge supporter of Coach Tommy Moffit, Coach Chavis, Coach Cooper and Coach Robinson but Coach Crowton's offense has been going downhill and that is including the 2007 NC team when he took Jimbo Fisher's offense and immediately started making them worse... hence the losses to unranked KY and AR that year. We hear over and over about Les Miles 56-15 record but examine that record a little more closely and you'll see that he was 34-6 in his first three years, while swimming in Saint Nick's vast talent pool, and has gone 20-9 since. But more telling than that is the fact that he is 1-7 against FL, AL, Ole Miss & AR the last two years. And that our offense continues to be ranked at the bottom of the SEC. I don't need to criticize Miles you can pick up any periodical on any news stand in the country and you will be able to read an article on the coaching maladies at our University. But I feel compelled to make the feelings know of the many LSU supporters that are unhappy with the direction of this program. Remember that we you receiving your thousand dollar + bills from TAF and for Season tickets, next season.

What the frick is a Les Miles apologist? Do you say "Oh Im so sorry about our national championship winning coach and his insane bowl winning percentage." There was nothing to apologize about.

if you would've signed up here a few years ago you'd know exactly what a Miles "apologist" is.

Its what the Miles haters called everyone that didn't agree with them.

its nice being right

Amen, Amen, Amen. (I'm now up at the front of the church dancing with the choir because you are preaching the Truth that I knew was from the Lord last year) AMEN!!

Notice how all the followers of that false prophet known as Gary Crowton are no where to be found.

Let's wait until we actually win the SEC before we start the the self-congratulatory virtual masturbation. We still have to beat Tenn, AU, BAMA, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and the SEC East champion.

Or "sunshine pumpers". The term we self-applied was Positigers. The Negatigers (sometimes they self-apply "Realists") have largely gone silent.

But - they are still here...lurking, I daresay PRAYING for a setback to prove them right after all. LSU will lose another football game, if not this year or next, perhaps in 2013 - but it will happen - and when it does, they will be RAINING criticism down. They seem more and more foolish as time goes on, but they are as constant as gravity in their presence, if not their voices.
