I know this May not have much weight with most of you of this site, but one factor I have not heard yet has been throwing a wet football. Over time, it is clear certain qbs do not like throwing wet balls. Manziel had his worst game of his career in Baton Rouge in the rain. Troy Aikman hated throwing wet footballs. AJ looked comfortable and confident until the pick, then he looked like Jarrett Lee.

I have worked many football camps and worked with a lot of kids at the Steve Clarkson QB clinics, and AJ seems to have a ton of talent. Don't panic (yet lol).

Wet balls!!!! Does anyone really like wet balls?

Oh man, I thought this was going to be a story about some Bama fans in the Quarter for the Sugar Bowl.

Should be called Crushed Balls.

OP - 2 word titles get anchored.

I thought he never looked comfortable or confident all game. After the pick it was just way worse.

And it's not like it was a downpour all game.

Wet balls tend to make a QB release early. Jennings certainly had a problem with early releases yesterday.

I do.

It means I'm getting some and doing the job right.

At halftime I was listening to the ESPN call of the Gator Bowl and they were discussing the effects of the wet ball. One announcer said he covered the LSU Auburn game and noticed pregame Nick Marshall couldn't handle the ball well while Mettenberger could. Bigger hands for Mett. He said it affected Marshall's play in the first half and when the weather cleared, Marshall's play improved.

I don't know if this was a factor with Jennings but he definitely didn't have the accuracy he had in the Ark game and Spring game.

I think and hope he will come around next year.

He was in a bad position as I stated before. 1st start, bowl game, national TV, etc..
