Stop the bleeding.

We have what, 50 scholarship players and 7 - 4 or 5 star players left. It has to stop now.

You have to have a base for a new coach to succeed. Do you want to keep letting it all fall apart? It would be nice to stop losing players so our new coach would have a little talent to work with next season.

why? its not like everyone will leave for good

we won't literally lose everyone and besides the new coach can hit the transfer portal if there are immediate holes to fill.

its already fallen apart, whether we go 7-5 and play in some garbage bowl or stay home makes no difference. I'd rather not have a losing season just to keep the streak alive but it really doesn't matter.

Various reasons. Do you want to lose more?

Nope, but the more we continue to lose, the worse it will be for the next head coach.

You just can't understand it. ITs 100% about salvaging something.

In two weeks, you'll be typing the exact same things I am typing today Watch.

I mean… who is the interim that does better?

I don’t see him on staff.

I agree it’s super fricked that O is fired but still here, but I dont Think not firing him or getting rid of him changes our record.

this year, i'd prefer to go at least 6-6 but really don't care

you don't understand marginal differences do you?

quote:

You just can't understand it. ITs 100% about salvaging something.

no i 100% understand, its you that doesn't.

You say it's going to get much worse? What is it? the season? We have 4 games left, you could bring in Bill Belichick to coach and we aren't beating Alabama so the upside is 7-5, what the frick are you hoping to salvage a trip to the Birmingham Bowl?

quote:

In two weeks, you'll be typing the exact same things I am typing today Watch.

I'm sure you will because you can't see the forest for the trees. In 2 weeks we will have played exactly 1 more game and we will lose it, badly doesn't matter who is coaching

The difference between you and me is you are too concerned on the little picture when that doesn't matter.

The ONLY thing that matters is who the next coach is and we wont know that for a few weeks and even then we won't know whether he was a good hire for a couple of years.

You are so dumb. I don't give a rats arse about the record.

I care about retaining talent, recruiting talent and being able to have suitable personnel to attract elite coaches.
Is English your second or third language? I don't get it. You're having a non existent conversation.

then why the frick do you keep going on about salvaging something The season is done, the rest is easily fixable, you are too much a prisoner of the moment.

Its been explained to you in detail at least two times in this very thread.

I can't draw worth a shite or I would try to help you out a little more because you definitely cannot read.

this much is obvious.

you are way to over-reactionary to the current moment, you are missing context, the big picture and marginal differences.

you say you want a suitable roster to attract elite coaches. Now you will agree that literally not every single scholarship player will leave and we will not have zero commits correct? Furthermore you understand that college rosters are fluid and top players will only stay 3-4 years anyway right, so 1-3 tops for the current roster. So barring a situation like that movie Necessary Roughness no elite coach will turn down the job based on the the roster at the end of this season. This is even less of a concern now with the transfer portal. So while it would be nice if you no one left, its not that big of a deal if some do.

Recruiting talent will also be up to the next.

What you are reacting to is the unknown, you don't exactly what it will be so you panic. What I'm telling you is don't, it will work itself out as long as the next coach is a good one.

There are literally multiple example at just LSU (DiNardo, Saban, Maineri, Wade) of coaches that came into far worse situations and turned things around in year 2, hell what was the baseball program before Skip? he was in Omaha in year 3. It does not take long to fix things in college sports, it just doesn't. Fretting over the next few weeks like permanent damage will be done because a couple of recruits de-commit or that a top coach will pass because a couple current players leave is just false and silly.

From the remedial who still has no clue what's being discussed despite being directly told twice.

You can't even tell me what we are discussing..

Absolutely not.

WE are losing games, players and recruits. Ed was given his full payout, fired then allowed to keep running down he program.

Its the dumbest of all possible scenarios. In fact, its so retarded that it shouldn't be a scenario. I would kind of like to keep a few star 2022 recruits, and a few players on this roster. That may not happen.

we are discussing LSU football and why you think keeping a lame duck coach is a disastrous move. All of your concerns are short term only, i can't make it more simple than that.

Keeping Ed O the last 6 games makes no difference for the future if the program, it will all be dependent on the next coach. And what players may leave or current recruits that may go else where have no impact on who that coach may be and are easily replaceable.

i thought you said you didn't care about games this year? So which is it?

this brings us back to the main discussion what do you mean by running down the program? Everything you listed as concerns ARE CURRENT, they are TEMPORARY. They can easily be fixed by the next coach. The unknown part is who, the next coach obviously but also the players that will be on the roster in spring and next year, some will be current players that stay, some will be new recruits or transfers. The program will be just fine if the new coach is good, its that simple.
