JL needs a fair chance to show if he has progressed or not. Putting him in during slop time will not show if he has or has not. With all he has put up with from LSU fans and particularly this board, and the staying power he has shown, he has earned a fair chance.

Nicely stated.

You don't earn a start for these reasons.

You earn it on the field, either in a game or in practice.

You earn a start by beating out your competition.

As I've always said, I'm all for Lee seeing PT for at least a series a game. He might not earn more PT from his game performance. However, if he is better than JJ, that should show up in practice. That's where he can earn his start. Apparently, he hasn't done it yet.

I said this during the season last year, and TheDoc and Antonio kept parroting completion % and showing and reshowing the video of the one good pass he has thrown over the past two seasons.

He was making strides before the vandy game. I don't know what the deal was but clearly he wasn't getting it done and seemed to get worse with each pass as time went on.

I don't know if lee is the answer, but at this point I don't think Jefferson is.

What's up 5s??? It's time for your boy to get his chance. I just hope he's ready for that vaunted 6-0-5 defense he'll be facing week in and week out.

I'd love to hear more about your awesome defense that brought you and your high school buddies so many state championships but, sadly, we've got bigger fish to fry on the rant today.

so, how you gonna play this one out...saw a few post where you were trying to move ur stance from JJ to the middle, instead of a full Lee onslaught....i must admit it worked for clinton during his re-election...

After game 1 it looked as if Jefferson made some strides. What happened Saturday could not have been predicted by anyone, even you coach. I'm just not willing to throw the entire season away because our head coach is too fricking dumb or stubborn to make the switch. The very fact that Lee stuck it out tell me something about the kid's internal make up. I also liked what I saw in his limited time Saturday. He was directing players around and he even signaled to Ridley on the long run that the push was going to be to the left. They showed a good view of it during the COX replay last night.

A LOT of people have secretly been wanting to see J Lee well before this game...

now its OK to say it without fear of being called one of the various TD put downs.

i didnt think so...thought he looked the same...except for the hard running and feet moving in the pocket...all I saw that was different..

I think a few of us on here knew it was coming...maybe not predicting when or how bad, but we always knew that he wasnt good...and I believe we can both agree that I have never thought he was good...

actually if he plays lee it will feel like a new beginning...and if he plays bad...well, at least we know...but id give him a couple games to prove himself..

and yes our coach is fricking stupid...

i know, you havent seen Sammobile or Road around here cause they dont even want to show there face...

at least the others...The Doc, Mighty, few others came out and admitted some things....I can respect that...and if Lee plays poorly ill be the first to say...he's not the guy either... but I know he has a better chance than JJ..

that's why I say give J Lee a shot against Moo state once we have the game in hand

the game will be extremely close with JJ under center for 3 straight quarters, it wont ever be "in hand". Nobody should sleep on Miss State....

RE: apologizing if Lee plays poorly: Your logic is flawed. One rationally analyzes the situation with the information currently at hand. One is not expected to be psychic. A rational analysis says that J Lee should get a shot at this point.

if you rotate qb's agianst State LSU looses. Pick one and stay with him. at this point i take lee. But the minute he throws a picks 6 everyone will be screaming for JJ . welcome to tiger football.

If he throws for 250 and 2tds, the pick 6 might not be AS heavily scrutinized as in the past.

If he throws for some yards, our offense will look like a powerhouse compared to what were used to seeing out of the air...

You left out your favorite reason: he makes your favorite coach, Gary Crowton, look like the incompetent he is.

2 can work if 1 is the definite starter/first teamer and the other is a compliment.

Try JLee and have JJ as the compliment for a series or two, and see how that goes...that is my vote (like I have one )
