Well done, Les Miles and Staff, on recruiting. Time for me to eat some crow.

A while back, while lambasting the indecisiveness of LSU's leadership re: hiring or firing of Miles, I stated, "Without a doubt, our stellar recruiting season was killed by the actions of LSU's leadership." Wow, was I wrong!

Not only has our staff overcome that adversity and kept this recruiting class relatively intact, they have augmented it greatly. Very impressive performance thus far in the off-season-- this recruiting class, replacing Steele with Aranda, and recruiting our key juniors to play another year.

with a jimbo hire, all the juniors would be going pro and we would probably lose a few recruits. the next two years in football is definitely better with lm than jimbo.

I learned a long time ago to never bet against Miles. I was anti Miles after the 2008 season. I thought Miles won in 2007 with "SABAN's" players andd would run the program into the ground. I had convinced myself of this, until a former SEC coach shot down all of my ill informed and ignorant criticisms. He predicted that Miles would do well at LSU, if given the chance.

Premature congratulation! If they bring all of these horses in the barn on signing day, then huge praise.

Essentially, yes. Have to see if it continues, but all reports are that feelings towards LSU up there are as strong as they've ever been and we've gotten every target up there this year.

yahoo!

somehow I think all the national sympathy for miles and the players carrying him off the field had something to do with two of these events.

I seriously doubt the commits will flip before signing day.

I firmly believe that Les is the type of guy that would take that experience in November and use it to refocus and learn from it. I could be completely wrong and only time will tell, but the way he has acted since the A&M game seems like a man that saw the end and realized he didn't want it to happen so soon.

How do you know this?

Very likely, but we also probably pick up a few that we've missed out on (quarterback anyone?).

I'm with you. Congratulations to Les Miles and his staff for a job well done.

I have to wonder how bad John Chavis was screwing up the program, given the improvements in recruiting since his departure.

Chavis was also at UT when that program fell apart and aTm seems to be headed in that direction.

LM has shown he can get the players to come to LSU. That has been proven. What is the concern is can they develop while here enough to win championships? will they still be here for 4 years? To me, these metrics are the true value of a class.

Concerns over maybe a couple, but the reason is because of the uncertainty with Miles. I would bet the house that is exactly what Richt is telling logan. I'll be here for 4 years, Miles might not even make the end of the season.

So no thanks to Alleva and the tards that supported him.

Agreed. Chavis is a cancer.

It really is starting to look that way. I would love to know what was going on internally over the fast four years. We should have recognized it just by the high numbers of early departures from the program. We've always had some players leave early but, nothing like what was going on.

I'm really looking forward to the 2016 season which is the first time I've felt that way in a few years.
