Like some have been saying, if we do well this year more power to us, but NEXT YEAR this team should ball out and be strongest it's been since the Dale Brown era imo
Naz
Waters (seriously doubt he leaves knowing what is coming)
Smart
Williams (signs are looking really good)
Rachel
Days
Alexander
Bigby-Williams (oregon xfer)

we're looking at a court with 4*/5* recruits backing each other up

Exactly. This was a unanimous pick to finish last in the league. We are already in the fight with this group. So proud of the way they compete. The defense is coming along and the talent level will only get better. People have quickly lost sight of the fact that this team has significant talent deficits and was picked to be last in the sec

we have serious deficiencies inside. that was always gonna be tough to overcome this season, but if we make 3s, we've been able to handle it. last night, that wasn't the case.

Mays and Sampson were 4 stars too bruh. So was Mayan Kiir. Just thinking about it, I believe Daryl Edwards and Wayde Sims will be the only 3 stars on next years roster. That’s incredible.

Who said we “should” win? Bama is a fringe top 25 team that would have beat last years LSU team by 30.

Guess basketball threads are going to be riddled with folks who jumped on board after last week to shite on everyone's parade first chance they get.

We lost a game, it's basketball, it happens. Move on to the next game and learn from the mistakes. If you can't watch this team and see the program is going in the right direction, you're being miserable to just be miserable.

Well, based on that uneducated observation, I now know to ignore your future basketball posts.

Talent wise, this LSU basketball team is probably in the bottom half league.

Football on the other hand, is consistently in the top 2-3 talent wise.

Admit it, the Tigers were out coached by a former NBA coach and a former Division 1 coach on Alabama's bench. Also we were out coached every game for the past 3 years.

More importantly, when did Trent or Johnny Jones put over 13,000 in the seats in the PMAC - NEVER! NEVER! Those were paying customers last night - minus the students - not giveaways!

The Johnny Jones era you despise:

2012–13 LSU 19–12 9–9 T–8th
2013–14 LSU 20–14 9–9 T–6th NIT Second Round
2014–15 LSU 22–11 11–7 T–3rd NCAA First Round
2015–16 LSU 19–14 11–7 T–3rd
2016–17 LSU 10–21 2–16 T–13th

Three out of five seasons in top half of the SEC.
Won 19-22 games four years straight.
Successful first season with converted tuba player at center.

Jones tenure had run its course and it was time to make a change, but the Jones era was not the disaster many of you claim.

Will Wade has been a great hire thus far. Lets enjoy its progress and end all of the snide remarks about Johnny Jones, a true Tiger who still bleeds purple and gold.

You fail to point out the strength (or lack thereof) of the SEC.

Much like O, Jones got the job because he was "one of us". At the end of the day, he was a .500 mid major coach that was hired at a high major program. He wasn't qualified and the results bear that out.

He's also the first LSU coach since Press Maravich not to win the SEC.

Anything this year's team wins is a bonus. They've already exceeded expectations.

Assuming Williams commits, we will be bringing in the #2 recruiting class in the country for next year.

The rest of the conference has no clue whats about to hit them.

Yep, pretty damning when the 3rd ranked team in the SEC can't make the big dance (see 15-16)

Coach Jones did have a good run. I met him several times and he is a good man undeserving of the snide remarks here.

Ben Simmons was his downfall.

That is irrelevant. The Jones era was not a disaster. It may not have been a ringing success, but there was one NCAA tourney, an NIT appearance and could have been another if they had accepted in 2016.

Its just time to quit referencing Johnny Jones and focus on Will Wade and the good things happening and the bright future for the program. Johnny Jones has contributed to a lot of success in the history of LSU basketball long before he became head coach. Lets respect him for that and wish him well in his future endeavors.

It's like people forget we made the final four under Brady.
