It's do or die for O, so he may as well let E and Jerry just let it fly. When the rush gets heavy anticipating pass all the time, hit 'em with screens. Let the pass set up the run for the first time in a while.

I completely agree with this.

That’s why I was so disappointed we didn’t bring in a true passing mind to bring the program into a new era of LSU football.

We have a solid returning OL with more promise at the QB and WR position than we do at RB in almost 30 years.

Why not bring in an innovative mind to develop what so many of us have wanted to see for so long??

We already have people calling this the most difficult schedule in memory, so if we have to take some lumps this is the year to do it when expectations are as low as ever anyway.

But we have a scared and insecure HC that knows he’s in over his head and will never have a job like this again. He is living paycheck to paycheck so to speak instead of investing in the future of the program.

He would rather give us more of the same if it means an 8 instead of a 7 win season, as if that means anything, to get one more year and closer to another contract because he doesn’t care about shifting the long term philosophy of the program to something that could bring us back to championships in the future.

I’ve been told competing narratives by O pumpers.

“Why aren’t you being positive? We’re stacked on both the lines!” and “Every recruiting class can’t be highly rated! O concentrated on the lines and filled need on both with talent and depth!”

Versus

“Going to be a young offense, especially on the line, you can’t expect O to win 9 or more games with that and a first year starter!”

I’m an old Friend of Steve’s and that’s exactly what he said we were going to do . I have no reason to doubt him

I like balance on offense but the talent should dictate the offense. Have to develop the qb and commit to the position. Can't bail on passing game because of an interception. Miles was conservative to protect the qb instead of unleashing the talent and developing it. The 50 50 talk kind of angers me. It's all about exploiting matchups. If opponents defense has weak secondary, throw the hell out of the ball. Don't worry about if it's 50 50. Score points. Aranda is making all that money. Let him worry about stopping the opponents offense.

What did we do against Bama in ‘16 when O and E were calling the shots?

Etling got sacked 3 times in the 1st Quarter and we sucked our balls into our abdomen.

Well first we need to see if our QB is actually good

That is certainly true. But another very important factor is how well the line pass blocks. These two concepts usually go hand in hand. But you're right - it all boils down to whether Myles is a better passer than Etling.

That's the premise of this thread: With next year's schedule, we're not gonna win 9-10 games with a pre-conceived notion of achieving a 50-50 run/pass ratio. Just keep throwin' it until they get it right or go down winging it. Shock and awe.

Like Oklahoma with Mayfield or UGA with Fromm?

Is it inconceivable that Brennan is capable of that?
