We need a running game period. The backs are good enough. What gives?
Is it Sloan?

He needs to get the ball out of pistol one-back sets. He is a downhill runner, not a zone guy. Line him up behind the QB and let him run over some people.

Caden Duram had 37 yards rushing against Ole Miss…do you think he lost his burst too? No, he didn’t have any holes to run through…

Are you serious? Durham was obviously not back to full speed Saturday. He didn’t even look like the same back in terms of speed and cutting.

Ole Miss does have a great front, but Durham would have had a lot more carries and at least been a little more effective if he had been full strength.

What we are trying to say is, it doesn’t matter which Running Back you use, it wouldn’t make much of a difference. You could have Derek Henry in our backfield and the success rate would not be much better….the problem lies in our poor interior offensive line. If you actually watched the game…the guy that tackled Jackson for a loss on the lateral run to the right went unblocked…the OT decided to combo block and the tight end blocked someone else….Jackson didn’t stand a chance….

I honestly believe that some of you would say that Derek Henry lost his burst too if he failed to produce with this poor run blocking OL…

Maybe he just isn’t that good right now. If was him I’d be thinking about losing 10 pounds and get some quickness back.

He needs a head of steam to succeed and needs to work on his vision (tough to improve). Physically very gifted, but has a couple big limitations.
