I think he is good...I just hope he doesn't put us in a spot if he decides to be the OC at Auburn next year....I think it is a possibility.

i think he can be an amazing OC, but i honestly don't know if we ever tap into his true system
if lee or JJ don't develop quickly, we may have to wait until garrett gets experience in the system to see the true crowton spread attack

The offense has no identity slow.
why is that?
why is that?

either crowton is trying to add too much to his staple (the spread) or miles is messing with his staple
either are possible...hell both may be possible

rowton never had an athletic quaterback he always had pocket passers that got the ball to his athlectic wide receivers.
I'm not sure if this is true but if it is that's pretty funny. I can't tell you how many people have told me that JL can't run Crowton's offense cause he isn't a running quarterback.

Witness OU vs. OSU last weekend......
if OU's Bradford does not have SOME ability to scramble out of the pocket and/or avoid the rush in order to find the 2nd or 3rd receiver, OU does not necessarily win this game......
You can go back and look at ALL big games, and rarely is there a team that is dominant enough on both sides of the ball to win the big games without having a QB with some capability to scramble.

All the Big 12 qbs currently understand the need to tuck it and move the chains.

Actually SlowFlow thats incorrect. Norm Chow only coached Phillip Rivers for one season which was Rivers Freshman year at NC State. After that one year he went to be the OC at USC.

Tim Rattay was the best quaterback that Crowton had at LA Tech. Rattay broke all kinds of passing records while there and he was less mobile than JL. The only difference that I see in JL and Rattay is their footwork. They both throw a good ball and are fairly accurate(when JL is stepping up in the pocket and not falling back). JL does have stronger arm than Rattay did, all JL needs is more time in the system and he will be a great quaterback. Once JL learns you don't have to throw the bomb every play just every once in awhile to keep the defense honest he will start to pick apart defenses.

Fixed it for ya. No way in hell is he the best OC. If hes that damn good, then why not give it to the two horses in the backfield til they tap their damn helmet. Why? Bc he tries to get too damn creative or outthinks himself. I would take these over him:
Dan Mullen
Chow
Even Jimbo

Are you serious? What LSU offense did you watch this year? They ran up the middle this year between the guards for a 1 yard gain or 1 yard loss more times than when Dumbo Fisher was here and thats saying alot. I guess you consider anything outside of a play action pass being creative? LSU's offense this year was anything but creative, it was to damn predictable and vanilla just like in years past. Makes me want to

I would take these over him:
Dan Mullen - only if he gets credit for recruiting Tebow - and the likes of that probably won't happen for another 50 yrs.
Chow - I'll take GC. I think one of the best things about GC is that he isn't married to a single system. Isn't Chow basically a "west-coast" guy?
Even Jimbo - the early season egg master.

easy on the drugs...seek intervention.
Crowton is good, but not great....
he never shown that side yet.
