At some point if voters keep using i test then the regular season will lose importance.

As the playoffs expand, as they surely will, the regular season will lose importance.

In any case, I was responding to this:

I agree but do really think 10-2 gets him fired after what we saw last year? I'm not sure it will.

Basically saying that not only would Les not get fired for going 7-1 in conference, but that could very well get LSU into the playoffs.

I still say it could, even if it's not likely.

But Miles' job would certainly be safe if he only loses one more regular season game.

I agree. been saying this for 3 weeks. auburn beats us by shutting down our running game. a healthy Lawson, along with adams, Russell and marlon Davidson ( who I think is gonna be the best of them all ).

Auburn has a nasty DL and can pass the ball now. If their running game is the real deal, they'll be beating a lot of teams this year.

That made me remember that this is how Auburn always is. When people pick them to win, they suck, and when people pick them to suck, they win.

There 1st team dline is as good as anyone's but there is a huge gap between their 1s and 2s.

I still agree with replacing Miles but i wont shite on him for doing the smart thing against an inferior opponent.

I do not shite on Miles...having said that, this offense has not clicked outside of the run game in a few years. Utilizing ANY opponent to iron out issues is what should be done and what IS done by successful coaches everywhere.

BTW, what LSU will do on 3rd and long is well documented by now once the run does not realize the bulk of first down yardage to that point, so your premise does not hold water.

Why do you think teams schedule a few cake walk games early? A good coach knows when his team needs as much real world experience as they can get when there is a consistent lack of execution.

If Etling brings life to the LSU offense, I think most of the pundits will agree to give LSU a pass for a last minutes loss due to a horrific QB performance of a QB who was replaced thereafter.

That's about the same with everybody but Bama. I also think you're exaggerating a bit. Our OL looks like turds and I just hope Etling or whoever else it out there doesn't get injured.

And BH6 was supposed to be vastly improved with a real grasp of our offense, well that didn't happen, and here we are 2 games into the season talking about all the losses coming...
Is it bottom now, or the end of the season when all of the recruits sign elsewhere?

He is a good kid who was a wrong fit and has not developed to execute the LSU offense which he is a bad fit for. Can't blame him for being upset, but he is a square peg and we have a round hole, and he ain't a fit, so its time to move on to Etling.

All this means that the nearly 8 year QB draught (aside from Zach Mett) are behind us. McMillan, Etling and Scott all seem like solid cerebral QB's with adequate-or-strong wheels.

I really can't understand this optimism. Etling was second string at Purdue for God sakes. McMillan ? Another QB suited to a spread who wasn't offered by any major program. And Scott is a true freshman who is on the small size and who we almost didn't offer. I hope like hell one of these is going to become a top sec QB but to say our QB issues are behind us is stupid. Bottom line is CLM has never recruited and developed a top QB.
