Whooh,, you think you got that one didn't you big boy.??

And where is he now?? I believe the purple drink monster got him and he is BROKE AS FRICK sitting on the couch after a 1 year horrible NFL crash career.

Oh and when your a 6'4 Qb college, you can get a little more better stats because you can see over the line.

NOT, but thanks for trying

Yeah, but that was in high school .... College football is just a tad bit more competitive than HS football. Especially in the SEC.

Agree with OP. We are lucky to have Etling .
The emotional or underinformed fans always blame the QB first, when a team stuggles.

You said LSU hasn't had a good qb in 50 years. I pointed out how wrong you were.

Please explain in detail how that has anything to do with him being incredible at LSU, becoming the #1 pick in the draft, or you being dead wrong.

INCREDIBLE????

He was good, not great, and damn sure not incredible.

But Rockstar, the question was how come LSU cant recruit great Qb's

Isn't it the job of the coaches to develop QB's?

Brennan was the #4 ranked QB prospect, Brandon Harris was #2, Jarrett Lee was #10, Jennings was #8. The talent is there, but the development is not. Blame the coaches

I believe I stated both, Recruitment and Development.

Check the original post.

He had more passing yards, a better completion %, and 2 less touchdowns than the qb who won the heisman trophy that same year. He most likely had the strongest arm in the history of college football. Since 1936, only 33 qb's have been selected with the #1 overall pick in the NFL draft. He was one of them.

He was recruited to LSU and then attended LSU...

I was a little confused by the 2nd half of your post, but I got it now. Either way I disagree with the recruitment side of it as we have the QB talent incoming, we just do nothing with it.

Check your stats please. Russell statistically finished 13th in the nation in 2006.

Russell
2006 passing yds 3129

1. Colt Brennan passing yds 5549

2. Chase Holbrook passing yds 4619

3. Graham Harrell passing yds 4555

4. Curtis Painter passing yds 4015

5. John Beck passing yds 3885

The thought is crazy isn't it? Fans have been brainwashed when it comes to mediocre QB play.

I've noticed that the rant usually wake up from the sunshine pumping on Saturdays typically around mid 1st quarter when our offense looks completely unprepared. This usually last until about Tuesday.

Wednesday through Friday they go back to being delusional until the next Kickoff.

The Watcher,

He was drafted #1 for arm strength size and power combo, not because of his skilled QB talent.

But his lack of reading defenses, slow cumbersome moves when forced out of the pocket, cost him at the next level.

I don't think the hate necessary has to do with Etling.
The fan base as a whole is tired of an average/below average QB. Hopefully that changes with Brennan.

As soon as it's Brennan's turn, they'll hate him too.

The most predictable behavior in the world, LSU fans lust for the backup QBs

My only point is...DE would probably not be starting for ANY other team in the SEC right now, and that says a lot about the state of our program.

And which one of the players you listed won the heisman as I specifically compared him to? You are not intelligent at all and are a bad poster.

Troy Smith won the heisman trophy that year. Every stat I listed was 100% accurate

You sir are fricking retarded.

Jamarcus Russell was not a great QB, His draft number was high,

He finished in the NCAA
#13 in 2006
#27 in 2005
#64 in 2004

He only played 3 years, he was not a great QB, he was good. That's it.

Jesus,, learn something dumbass

He holds on to the ball too long, but I'm sure our O-line will have him cured of that habit in short order.

Don't care who is the QB for an LSU team that will lose 4-5 games.
