I have said it before he needs a year in the weight room to take the pounding of the college game.

Oh I see. Ok. So road games in the SEC are just like high school.
where did I ever say that? You're now moving the goal posts.

I simply said there's no freshman wall. I've been closely following college basketball for 50 years and I've literally never heard that argument. Rookie wall in the NBA - yes. But freshman wall? No such thing.

In fact, I'd argue the opposite. After half the season, freshman are more seasoned and adapt to the tougher competition of college ball. But there's no freshman wall.

I’m worried about his mental toughness . I would assume he will mature and be a solid 4 yr contributor

But there are some athletic teams (like the last two we’ve played) that are neutralizing his game

Waters is too short to create offense against an athletic team determined to stop him. The problem is that we have no one else on the team who prevents defenses from focusing on Waters.

Next year Waters will have a lot better opportunities, because teams are going to have to pick their poison.

He’s playing with a bum wrist right now. That and he’s struggling to adjust to the traps and high hedges. He’s missing that 6th gear he had up till about 3 weeks ago.

You’re exactly right in fact most successful freshman start to come into their own around this time of year and hit their stride. There’s no wall playing 2 basketball games a week.

You work on English; Waters will work on his basketball. Let's see who improves first. Fair?

Sometimes you gotta give credit to who's guarding him.

He's a freshman that has exceeded expectations in the first half of the season

He's a freshman leading the team in minutes and the only guy who can create anything on offense.

He's tired and teams are gearing their defense to stop him because no on else can hurt LSU's opponents right now, besides Duop, who won't beat you by himself.

He will be fine, especially when he has help around him next year.
