Anyone remember what became of that whole ordeal? Also, what condition the husband ended up in? Forgive me for not remembering which game and what year...I just remember feel terrible for them. I remember how genuinely hurt and pissed when the story broke.

It was West Virginia. From what I've heard the husband is fine.

I was at that game.....WVU is a backwards as advertised. Nothing gave me a greater thrill than after (I believe ) Morris C ran back the kickoff after WV scored and thought for a moment they actually had a chance to win. There were some very nice WV fans who were welcoming but for the most part there fan base is a bunch of assholes.

I passed the guy right after it happened. Sitting on the curb, quite bloody. Glad he's ok. Their fan base was great to us. Found several people that had been to LSU for their game with us and they all had great things to say. They treated us well. I don't think the brick thing was aimed at the LSU people because they were LSU fans. Just some assholes causing trouble.

as the others say, I think that was west virginia in 2011...I attended that one...

interesting fanbase...most of their fans were very nice however, I remember seeing a number of scumbags cruising around just looking for fights among the tailgating crowd...not necessarily aimed at LSU fans, as they were looking for a fight with WV fans as well...

now, in the game there were a good number of fights between fans of the diffent schools, but I would pretty much blame that on the sale of alcohol in the stadium...

honestly, the fans were generally friendly...I have seen a lot worse done by LSU fans at our home games...

Thx for the info guys.. If it hasn't already... Something terrible should eventually happen too to those Appalachian moonshining dental care protestors. Thx again

Their fanbase is badically just like lsu's. Good tailgates, a lot of drinking, fans will cause you. I got cussed at but had a great time. A lot of lsu fans can dish it out, but can't take it.

no doubt in my mind that it already has....if you screw around much in that kind of environment, it will never be long before somebody bigger and badder than you comes along and dishes out some karma...

sooner or later, people generally get what they deserve...

ETA: I also think the injury to the LSU fans was probably exaggerated a bit due to the emotion surrounding the game...so I wouldn't worry about those folks too much

Basically, no it's not. It is absolutely impossible to compare hundreds of thousands of radically different people of varied ages, backgrounds, educations, etc. - especially between an area of semi-rural mountains and a semi-urban metropolitan area.
I also don't recall any band of young pseudo-LSU fans attacking a vehicle miles off of LSU's campus and putting its occupants -including an infant- in danger, and putting one in the hospital.

Get out of here with this. Stop acting like LSU is perfect. The way their fans act is a lot like how LSU fans act. If you weren't there, don't comment anymore.
