YG is a very good Softball coach. Her resume' proves it. But it just seems like she has never really felt completely comfortable at LSU. She totally built that UL-L program from scratch. I mean TOTALLY. I think she personally installed shite at the stadium, sewed the uniforms, that kind of shite. I honestly think her heart has always been with UL-L and LSU was about money. There is no historical link or passion for LSU from her. I'm not saying she doesn't want to win here. Just that she lacks an emotional attachment to the university.

Yeah, forget about the other 3 before that for ULL.
You mean the ones Yvette got at ULL? I'm comparing the two programs since Yvette took over at LSU. While ULL has been playing softball a while, LSU wasn't even playing softball in the mid-90s.

Have you ever seen them? It is kind of weird she is about 250lbs and he is about 90 lbs.. Odd couple for sure.
That's messed up. I read somewhere that he graduated from LSU.

I dunno where he graduated from. I know they are from Lafayette. After this weekend ULL will prob. be sitting at home, I seriously doubt they beat UCLA at their field.

Yet, we're able to take ULL's coach?
I don't think that's something to brag about.
You saw what happened when "big" Skip hired another ULL coach to head the baseball team.....

Show me where they are better
1st, thye've made it to the CWS more than LSU.
2nd, they've beat LSU when it mattered most on more than 1 occastion, not to mention on LSU's home turf....

Not bragging about it. Just stating a fact.

No I didn't, care to refresh my memory.

I was going to point out that it wasn't ULL, but decided against it.

5 cws appearances to 2 maybe?
By AP83's count, Notre Dame is far and away a better football program than Florida and current high school seniors should have Notre Dame higher on their lists than Florida.

Do you not remember a guy named Smoke Laval?

My bad, thought he coached at ULL.

Since LSU started playing softball, the WCWS appearances are even. If ULL were that much better of a program and been playing softball years before LSU, it seems that ULL should have more appearances over that stretch than LSU. How in the hell has LSU been able to catch up and compete so quickly?

Because LSU paid her a small fortune.

Are you an idiot? That is a stupid analogy. So you are saying ULL=ND and LSU=Florida. The problem with that is ND sucks now and Florida is winning. ULL has history if you will such as ND but they are still good unlike ND so yes recruits should choos them over LSU. By your comparison you are saying ULL is now bad like ND and LSU is good like Florida.

Well I did know that Smoke Laval never coached at the school in Lafayette.

No, but your argument has been that ULL went to Omaha in the 90's (when Yvette was their coach). Since she has been at LSU, their Omaha trips are even. You can't compare the programs before she arrived at LSU. So use your stats only in the last 8 years or so, not WCWS from the 90's.
Winning the Sun Belt is not the same as winning the SEC. ULL doesn't have to play Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida in their conference. My point there is that people have a right to be discourage when LSU loses to ULL in softball, because the programs should not be equal. LSU should have the upper hand, and they don't. If the coaches at ULL are out-recruiting the coaches at LSU, then there needs to be some kind of a shake-up in Baton Rouge.

Then the question is: "Does it matter to the athletic program at LSU?" My feeling is that it really doesn't. Just be competitive in conference, make the NCAA tournament, and try to break even (if that's possible). Same with women basketball, gymnastics, volleyball etc. Expectation level = competitive enough to make the tournament.
