Oh BS. Culpability begins and ends with the individual student. Every time.

really ? even if said student is being graded differently from the others because said student is a star athlete ?

Ive been in a marketing class with him before and he went to every class and was probably the best presenter in the entire class on one of the projects. he also seemed like he was on top of his shite. im kind of surprised by this....he must have had one assignment/test grade that killed him in a class...

Feel bad for the guy after the being such a good leader for LSU all year.

Yeah a real leader. Do as I say not as I do.
He took the "student" out of student athlete.

I love Ridley, but if this a cheating or effort deal, then that pisses me off. How can the leader of the team not take care of business in the classroom. This will leave a stain on his legacy. Oh well, glad we have a couple of weeks to get Ford and Ware ready for the game. Could be a blessing in disguise for next year if they play well and we win.

i love ridley as well, carl .. but ford is just a straight up animal .. i think he can do what ridley does between the tackles with a little more speed to take it the distance if he gets the touches ..

I think so too. But there was a reason he wasn't playing early in the season. Hopefully whatever those issues were, he's got them taken care of. I am anxious to see what Ware can do out of the TB position as well. Not just catching passes from FB.

did everyone just ignore the "we hope to have him back by Jan 7th" part?

Ford is going to be good, and he's an awesome runner, but he can't block. THat's why he hasn't played a ton. He'll get there. Rid can run, block, and catch. Oh, and he knows the PB

word on the street was that he was in les' dog house early on because of some loafing at practice .. but supposedly, that issue has been worked out and the ethic has taken a "180" ..

All depends on the appeal. Appeal fails, he no play.

100% correct hot carl

Ridley appeared to be doing everything right...great player, offensive leader, gave his all, said all the right things, he was far and away my favorite and our best offensive player this year.

If it comes out that he wasn't going to class, cheating, or whatever, and then bolts to the NFL, I'd be highly disappointed and I would be left with an extremely bitter taste in my mouth about him and his career.

well .. everyone has culpability in that case .. and the school is a part of it .. small private schools operate differently .. you never know if the star athlete is being graded a bit differently either ..

and this never happens in public schools?

Failing to get a 2.0 considering the fact that he is probably in a bullshite major, getting all kinds of personal tutoring from professors and help at Cox Auditorium, concessions made for student athletes traveling to away games, and the fact that he goes to LSU (my alma mater and school I love...but not the most academically challenging for a student-athlete to stay eligble)...unacceptable.

This is ok. We have other great talent. More importantly, this can be our excuse if we lose.

You do realize that you are saying that without any real idea of what this is about....right?
