Martin has been leading this University down the wrong road for a long time in the name of personal self advancement.

I literally cannot believe the POS is willing to travel the same path twice.

Difference here is, he's moving against the equivalent of Duke Basketball, not Duke Lacrosse.

This reminds me of the dipshit politicians when they took over the decisions in the Vietnam war. How did that turn out for them?

good article on syn weed Syn Weed

"No studies have been completed on fake marijuana's effects on human health or behavior, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. But Huffman warns that the compounds can cause high blood pressure, elevated heart rate and "serious and unpredictable psychological effects."

An Anderson University basketball player, who collapsed during a preseason basketball match, died from multiple organ failure from a chemical used in synthetic marijuana

quote:

Lamar Jack, 19, collapsed during practice on Oct. 4 and died several days later, Coroner Greg Shore said.

According to toxicology tests that came back Friday, Jack's collapse was triggered by a synthetic drug that mimics the effects of marijuana, Shore said.

"It has a chemical name of JWH-018," Shore said. "From what I understand, this is sold in drug stores and convenience stores in our area."

That's what happens when stupid decisions are made to get a high. Hopefully people will learn from this and avoid using any of this crap.

Gosh, as COD was PE, Shore will soon likely be famous in the Medical Community for documenting the Thrombotic Effects of THC.

same thing happened during alcohol prohibition. Many people died/were blinded/paralyzed from drinking homemade alcohol. Its a shame because of society's irrational view of marijuana that the young man you spoke of lost his life.

Stupid argument. The kid made a horrible decision to inhale something that was dangerous to him. It's tragic and hopefully a wake up to someone else to not do the same thing. So many instances like this can be avoided by personal responsibility to refrain from doing something stupid.

i doubt he knew it was dangerous to the degree it would kill him. Much like many drinkers during prohibition didnt think the alcohol they were drinking would kill them. Just more unintended consequences of people trying to "save" people from themselves.

I wonder how many people have died from marijuana?

the whole synthetic marijuana movement was a loophole in the stupid laws against the real thing.

People think that if they smoke synthetic weed they can get away with it and ignore the potentially dangerous side effects (that aren't found in regular marijuana)

75K every year

how many people die from mary jane?

Statistically, death directly from marijuana overdose is extremely rare. The CDC reports that between 1999 and 2007, there were 26 deaths with marijuana as an underlying cause, in the United States.

there isn't a good reason for alcohol to be accepted but not marijuana. The problem is this synthetic stuff isn't weed.

This is getting to where the line between punishing the offenders and punishing the offenders' teammates is getting blurred.

The team should not suffer for the mistakes of the individuals unless the individuals are starting to become a problem/distraction for team focus and achievement.

As it is, the suspensions themselves are starting to become the team distraction from focus and achievement.
