I may get blasted for this but give me the guy with some fight like Emitt Williams over someone like Watford. Give me the 3 or 4 star whose gonna fight like hell to win me a ball game rather than some soft no hustle all I care about is offense type of player. We need some more dogs.

The 3 or 4 star comment wasn’t referring to emmitt Williams over Watford. It was just another point.

Literally no one is a dog besides MAYBE Days. No one wants to do dirty work.

It’s not about dawgs.

He recruits too many tweeners. Positionless basketball is cool, but not when your whole team is positionless.

Start with a creator. Hard to win consistently when no one can set up anyone else on the team for easy shots

Then have a prototypical 3, which he has never had since he’s been at LSU

Athleticism is cool, but you need More skill. Would great great if the player has both. But I’d give a little of one for some of the other

I disagree that the whole team is positionless.. we are down low though for sure. Too many times playing 5 out.

Think Waters was that guy. Smart is good enough though he’s score first.

Don’t disagree but not sure there are a ton of guys like that in college ball, especially the SEC (which is what I concentrate on most obviously plus Big12)

It’s not like we have a bunch of Epps and Taylor’s out there. I see it more as lack of knowing what the frick to do on defense. Leads to lots of 3s which leads to lots of points or long rebounds

Watford is the one guy playing true to his position. When you account for size-skill-athleticism

You look most successful team models across the nba & college, & there is a system in place with defined roles. When you have that structure, it’s easier to understand your deficiencies.

In LSU’s case, I feel like Wade’s is not quite as pointed.

You can run & jump & score, but you may not have a true position? Ok, you’re in!

Waters was fully capable of being that at times. Most of time chose not to.

Smart has been really good, the best player on the team actually. But Cam Thomas next to him is just redundant. It doesn’t work.

This years Smart with last years Mays would have been Chef’s kiss

I’m speaking more like Smart & Mays who stick around & get better.

Not 1-2 year guys getting picked in the 2nd round. They are flawed, which is why they go in the 2nd round, for one. That reflects on the court in college. And then it leaves the program unstable in the process. I understand the model, but very few tier 3 basketball schools are good at it.

Javonte could lead the conference in scoring with the shot volume Cam Thomas gets

One guy shoots

50fg/45 3pt

The other shoots

40fg 30 3pt

Both are combo guards. A true PG next to either would be great. But Smart has been the better player yet Thomas is still allowed to hoist shots detrimental to the team

I agree 100%! Prima Donnas not needed, especially when they cost more money.

Cam Thomas right now in his career at everything related to the sport of basketball except for shooting a bunch of contested shots making some of them and free throws. He is not good on defense. Can’t dribble, pass, or get open with or without the ball.

He probably is going to be a really good NBA player in 4-5 years because he actually does the hard part well. The rest can be taught but won’t be taught at LSU.
