Still with all of that a coach cannot arrange payment or NIL deals themselves. You seemed to have ignored the rest of my post, conveniently. I was not defending the way he paid players. My point was I hope the NCAA doesn't try to end his career when schools today are doing very similar things in recruiting. Such as every Texas lineman getting a $50K NIL deal.

Reading comprehension is important. Did not say what he did was not a violation of NCAA rules, was merely laying out the mitigating factors when it comes to whatever punishment is levied.
