Yeah, well unless we start winning national championships every year, there will always be those in ivory towers, condemning the rest us for our acceptance of “mediocrity.”
The reality of the matter is that there is someone out there that is capable being the best coach on the floor ever game. But if he has shitty players, it doesn’t matter. there are the opposites. People could make arguments about calapari or wade to a lesser extent. Some Coaches get lucky, some are unlucky. The reality is that wade is better than the chance. He is unlucky this year, and for as good of a job he has done at recruiting, he hasn’t recruited the best against his retention. He used the portal to pick up players because he knew it would be rough this year. Just have to hang in there.

Brown went deep into the tournament many times. Wade has not, despite having decent players.
