Wade deserves a lot of credit for the end of the game

A lot of you will blame him for letting Texas back in the game, but the switch to the 1-3-1 zone threw Texas completely off their rhythm.

The 1-3-1 was clutch but I’m sick of blowing these leads.

What are you going to do about it

I give him full credit for this game being close.

Not saying it isn’t. Do you enjoy blowing large leads every game?

Yeah. Makes games interesting.

Look at the positives, our team is becoming battle hardened in close games, that could come in clutch late in the conference season and conference tourney. Basically all march madness games come with a bunch of late game pressure.
We do need to learn not to let up and kick them while they are down, but I am proud of how they battle back after completely losing the momentum.

Do some on here not understand that other teams have D1 scholarship athletes playing too?

We win. We don’t blow folks away. We live on the edge. We win,

Totally agree, but IMHO his refusal to pull Javonte, even for just a couple of possessions to talk to him and settle him down, man it's getting to be a broken record.
I love WW and I know it's a fine line to walk because Smart is a talent - but damn man most of these blown leads happen when Smart starts jacking bad shots and throwing bad passes.

A win with some issues is a lot better than a well-played loss.

Well said. I know nobody is happier with the team winning than you. Coach Wade has done a masterful job with in game adjustments and player development to guide this severely undermanned team to so many clutch wins

Today was a little frustrating considering how we were looking early, but as long as they don't blow the W, I'm good. It would be nice to learn to sustain some of those leads though here and there.

Wade has not done a masterful job of anything except con a portion of the LSU fan base to think he is the next best thing in basketball. He is a solid journeyman coach, and nothing more.

He managed the game well considering they had 1 timeout left with 14:30 and an opponent running a full court press, which hurts most when you don’t have a true PG.
Wade’s coaching in the past two games was excellent and will be forgotten because of the game flow.
ETA: When LSU started playing zone, UT was ~30% from 3 and ~60% from 2. Great defensive call.

If Wade could just coach Smart into not making stupid turnovers that kill LSU runs that would go a long ways to not needing these nail biters at the end. Agree the 1-3-1 move definitely contributed to them pulling it out. That is why he is such a good coach. Number of stupid turnovers during that TX run.
