Tackling is decent and dbs turn to find the ball.

I think this is potentially a great hire, because he seems to teach the aggressive Defense that LSU is known for.

I know the rules have changed drastically over the years, but are DB’s still allowed to use hands (bump) within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage? I miss the days of great cb’s hand fighting and knocking the rhythm of the offense off.

In the video, I see outside CB’s 2 yds off, but no one seems to punch at the snap as much. Also, everyone consistently allows the slot to move free off the line. I remember some of our past defenses where a blitzer would pop that slot guy and release him before edge containment blitzing. Not flaming at all just curious on the reasoning behind the changes.

What made Mizzou great this year was effort. Not necessarily scheme.

Don’t get me wrong, their scheme was good. They were obviously well coached.

But they had players who gave a shite and played with an attitude.

This is all I have ever asked from a DC and a defense. Pressure kills even the better QB's most of the time. Pressure causes to's also, and LSU was pitifully weak in the TO dept. When a DC can make any QB throw out of rhythm and not when he 'wants' to throw, that is when defenses a successful. House apparently had zero thought of this concept. It is the difference maker. How many times has LSU sat back and let the opposing QB throw whenever he pleased....so much so that the standard description of almost every average QB LSU faced was said to be made a 'Heisman candidate. Baker has to change that perception, and LSU will become a national contender again, but not until.
