It's great having someone with his personal experience being able to comment on just about everything that has been happening, I especially like his breakdown of the pitchers.

LSU needs to reach out to their past MLB alumni and get someone!

Umm....Ben McDonald is really good at doing the games Rollins. ESPN and the Orioles have tried to get him but he doesn't want the travel.

Don't get me wrong I like McDonald, but Smoltz broke everything down really well and has a lot more experience than McDonald.

LSU currently has nothing to compete with that. Not a big deal because I'm tuning in regardless, just saying it would be nice if we had someone with as much experience and knowledge as Smoltz.

We don't have anyone that played for LSU with the knowledge of a John Smoltz......too bad Maddux didn't play here.

They're not in charge of where the cameras are pointing are they? I'm just saying that the commentary throughout the game was an improvement over what we are used to.

Smoltz' breakdown of McCune was refreshing and I like to hear well respected people talk about the mechanics of pitching. Get over it.

Not to argue his experience or his breakdown?

Obviously their opinion will differ but Smoltz had 20+ years experience and never got by on his fastball like Ben.

Would you take Randy Johnson's opinion on the finer points of pitching over Greg Maddux?

I'm not arguing Smoltz had a better Pro career.....but Ben has been doing games as much or more and does a pretty damn good job.

AND...he doesn't take attention from the game like Smoltz does.

I would NOT take RJ's opinion of pitching over Maddux....no

Maddux was...to me.......one of the BEST at knowing how to pitch.

I'm glad "RUFF" Rhymes made an appearance tonight.

We're on the same page at least, I thought Smoltz did a great job. As I said earlier, their play by play guy wasn't good though.

Even though it's a "home team" broadcast, they've been about as unbiased as I've seen recently

I disagree. I don't care though. It was a Georgia station so they can do whatever they want.

Why does the color guy have to be an LSU guy. Smoltz has no connection to UGA other than that he played for the major league team in the same state.
