I didn't notice until last night't Vandy-UT game he's from BR.I know the attempted lockdown on basketball recruits isn't like it is in football, but was he on LSU's radar or for whatever reason did he make it clear from the start he wanted to leave town?

Been nice to have a talented 7'-1" guy on this team.

Didn't even sniff LSU was gone from day one. Just like Gathers and the rest that bolted, Monroe, etc!

Obviously he was on LSU's radar.

I think academics was a big part (he's a smart kid) but also LSU is a much stronger program now than it was when he was coming out of HS. As much as people dont want to believe it

He liked Vandy's academics, then add in that we had JOB on the team and had Martin and Mickey come in, he thought he wouldn't play as much as he wanted

Besides Vandy's academics, we had Trent. JJ got here when he already decided he was going to Vandy.

Trent barely tried with gathers. And brady didn't try with tweety carter or lacedarius Dunn, both took baylor deep in the tourney and Dunn is the all time leading big 12 scorer

Still trying to figure out why that post ended with an exclamation mark. Are you excited we didn't get those guy? Maybe I'm being a little sensitive for a basketball program that I love but that poster seemed a little to happy we lost those guys.

Perkins YMCA? His family was always there when I was a member years ago. His mission was to use basketball to get a great education. Great family. Very disciplined and hard working people.

He's not 7'1" but he was always looking for a higher academic standard than LSU offered. Very bright kid. Would have been an absolute program changer here, but I think he has really taken advantage of his situation at vanderbilt.

I agree. He would be a good addition to this team. Wasn't he 6-10 last year?

I say about 6-11 to 7-0. My dad was talking to him at a family reunion and he was looking up at him. My dad is 6-9.
