Thanks for posting trackfan. So glad that LoLo made the team and hopefully she can medal in London. would sure be nice if we could go 1 2 and 3 taking the gold siver and bronze.

Thanks for clarifying what going 1, 2, and 3 means.

Jones admitted in the press conference that she didn't believe she she would make the team when she woke up that morning and I have to admit that I had my doubts also, but the one person who never doubted is the man who just brought home LSU's 32 national track and field championship. Check out what Jones said about Coach Shaver in this Sheldon Mickles article last week.

“My times are not where I’d like to see them, with a 12.75 here and there, but the same thing happened in 2009,” she said. “I just kept plugging away, and all of a sudden I had a good race. “I have a brilliant coach (Shaver) and I trust him when he says the times will come down and I will get it done,” Jones added. ”I just tell him to be honest. But he has closely analyzed my tapes and said he can’t see why it wouldn’t happen.”
Depending on the unpredictable conditions of Eugene, Shaver believes it will take a time in the 12.6 range to finish third — just as it did in 2008. He said that’s within Jones’ reach despite her recent hamstring problems.

Trackfan or anyone else who follows track year round, who are the biggest surprise cuts so far?
Walter Dix and Bryan Clay?
Walter Dix and Bryan Clay?

I think you're probably right about Clay. As far the men's 100, I think it's more of surprise that Ryan Bailey did make it than Dix didn't. If Mike Rogers had beaten Dix out for that third spot, I don't think it would have been such a shocker. Bryshon Nellum in the men's 400 was also a big surprise, especially when you consider how Jeremy Wariner fell apart in the final 100 of the final.

Here's a great preview of the Women's Olympic 100-meter hurdles race.

By the way, there was some encouraging news for Lolo and all the other hurdlers when Kellie Wells, Olympic Trials runner-up, took down Sally Pearson in London this past weekend. This is the first time Pearson's shown any chinks in her armour in a long time.
