I find it funny that the line between a great season and an average season is how many other teams lose 3 games too.
If lsu was the top rated 3 loss team but rated 12th you wouldnt be calling this season great.

We can play the IF game all day. Let me try-- IF LSU has 2,losses in regular season and finishes ranked 30th, I wouldn't call it a great season.

So you would rather have 3 losses and finish 20th than 2 losses and finish 21st?
Thats placing importance on how many other teams lost games instead of your own wins.
Ive said this season was decent, im just not gonna say it was great when these same win loss numbers and offensive production got the last coach fired.

And I didn't call this season great. But rankings matter to me. They count. So finishing 6 v finishing 14, matters. It's not just the number of losses (but that's important, too) but to whom they occur. That's why a loss to Troy is way worse than an overtime loss to Bama, for example.
