I really wish we didn't know that La'el is postponing assisting in a police investigation of this murder because he's busy with the draft. I'd rather hear that he has no information on this occurrence and has been advised to make no other comments.
I wouldn't assume he's "postponing" anything. If he'd flown straight back, the chatter might have been that that makes him look suspect, in the same way that people are chattering that not coming back immediately makes him look suspect. And the players are being barraged with phone calls leading up to the draft. Last year I was sitting in the waiting room of an office with Anthony Johnson two weeks before the draft and he got a call from Schiano -we weren't even sitting together very long and he wasn't projected to be a high draft pick. There's no telling what La'el's timeline has been for being contacted by BRPD and if I was in his shoes, I'd follow my agent's advisement, too (the agent might have just played the PR wrong).

No one actually believes La'el isnt a suspect right?

For me, it's hard to believe a) that he shot Mills b) that at a time when he's doing media and prepping for the draft, he spent some time setting up a conspiracy to commit murder and c) that BRPD would've announced they wanted to speak with him until the dust settled if Shefter hadn't tweeted it out. If he did it, I have no sympathy for him, but I'm not one to think he had something to do with it because of a hatchet-job clickbait tweet.

I'm not saying he's necessarily guilty. Or he's their only suspect. But give me a break if people think he's not a suspect.

Do you know how many people the cops talk to after a murder? A lot...it would be unfair to assume anything
if he was a serious suspect, his arse would be in br right now imo

You are an idiot. Police let suspects wait a week to talk to all the time right bbap? "Oh officer, mind if I take a week to get my stuff together and leave this country?"
If he was a suspect there is no interviewing him at his convenience

Lot of naive people in this thread.

I know what people think -they aren't shy about saying it.
What I'm saying is that I don't think he's a suspect and I'm not gonna jump on that bandwagon unless he officially becomes a suspect. I just think it's farther-fetched to believe that he hired a hitman to commit murder on his behalf 6 days before the draft than it is that the police want to talk to everyone close to Mills to see if they know a lead on the perp.

So you really think cops would let an actual suspect wait a week or two at their convenience to interview? And we are the naive ones. If cops followed the bbap theory 99% of suspects would flee the country

our fanbase is the absolute worst. no way la'el does this 1 week before draft to save child support.

It really doesn't matter. He's her ex and quite possibly the father of her child. That makes him a suspect. Pretty cut and dry honestly.
Some people seem to think suspect means guilty.

Whomever's child it is: that's the primary suspect.

Yall have no idea what the hell you are talking about
It is simple, he isn't a suspect. The cops said it themselves. Suspects don't get to stay in Chicago and tell the cops I'll get back to you in a week

You have no idea what you're talking about.
See anyone can say that. Doesnt make it true.

This is is a simple yes or no question with one right answer that can easily be found:
Is La'el Collins a suspect?
And the answer is No. It is that simple. 100% no is the factual answer. But Lsu fans love the oppurtunity to eat their own. We finna eat boys!!!!!!!!!

This probably happens a lot more often than you seem to think.

I agree with that, but "suspect" in the context of this discussion has the tone of implying guilt because a lot of people assign guilt on the basis of suspicion alone. What I'm arguing against is not necessarily the definition of "suspect," but against the presumption of guilt.

100% La'el Collins isn't a suspect. You are factually wrong. I'm sorry
