re: Update: Collins to speak with BR police after draft

Schefter now reporting he's coming back to BR and missing the draft to meet with police.
So IF he turns out he isn't involved, he will have had his name run through the mud and been forced to miss a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to walk across the stage after being drafted.

"Complicated" 24 hours from the draft is no bueno for Collins.
Saints have to have a ton of backdoor connections to him. Maybe they can snag him at 44 when other are still gun shy.

If the cops want to talk to him then it sucks for him but that isnt ESPN or Shefters fault. But hopefully by coming back to BR he can possibly speak with police and make the Draft on Thursday night.

So we have essentially have to go off what the polic are saying, right now he is NOT a suspect. That doesnt mean he won't become one pretty soon.
I'll admit I think its crappy what the media is doing BUT if he is coming back here then it obviously isnt something that could just be cleared up by talking to them on the phone. I hope everything works out for him but feel terrible for this womans family and son.

Collins is currently not suspect
Right. Jon Jones wasn't a suspect 3 days ago, and Aaron Hernandez initially wasn't a suspect either.

Point being: police will often label suspects "not a suspect" for a variety of reasons when the reality is that they are in fact suspects.

he is either in deep shite OR he is coming back to clear his name before the draft so his stock doesn't fall
i would much rather draft an exonerated collins than one that is in "limbo"

Google tells me that it takes at least 2 days to process samples on a paternity test; one would hope there's a faster way to do so that's available to him.

no, i know how police investigations work. and no, it really isn't so simple. i just don't understand why you seem to be taking such offense at people calling collins a suspect in the eyes of BRPD. that, in no way, implies guilt in any way, shape, or form.

On a test for your life, the only question is this;
Is La'el collins a suspect in the Mills murder, circle yes or no.
How would you answer it?

It's just a terrible situation as if the murder of a pregnant woman isn't bad enough.

As fun as it sound to be 'officer dildo', unfortunately I'm not. I do have experience in these types of things as more than just an observer and....
Pump all the sunshine you want, but he's a suspect.
