You dont post here often if you dont get the joke.

Your opinion isn't stated as an opinion. You think you know something when you sound like a moron. You don't know shite.
The committee, selected by the NCAA, to determine the 4 playoffs teams doesnt know shite either?
I'm simply stating a case for one side of the argument. Its my OPINION. I've stated facts to support my opinion, but havent passed it off as those that have a different opinion are dead wrong. I actually believe I've said multiple times that Wisconsin and USC may have a case.

Cool. Well I'm at work, and getting paid while I post. Congrats on the life though.
Why are you getting your panties in a bunch because someone doesnt share your opinion?

They are bias, the committee will always put the "top" teams in. Who did Alabama beat this year that was better than Ohio state? Ohio state had a tougher schedule and had better wins.

I hate know it alls. I don't even have a real opinion on this. Alabama is the golden child. They will always win any decision between two teams.

They also have lost more games than Bama, and a far worse loss.
I wish Ohio State would have been put in over Bama, but to sit here and say that Bama didn't have a case at all is foolish.

I dont know it all dude, and have even stated it in this thread. Wisconsin was brought up, and I said I didnt know their numbers compared to Bama. I said the same about USC.

My argument is not for Ohio State, it is for Wisconsin. They were undefeated. They were forced to play an extra game and lost by 6 to the #5 team. Mean while Bama lost by 12 to the #7 team. If Wisconsin wasn't FORCED to play an extra game they would be in.

Honestly, do you believe if OSU had beaten Iowa or OU and only had one L, that they would have still be left out in favor of Bama?
Posted on 12/4/17 at 10:10 am to Hold That Tiger 10
Im willing to give OSU a pass on the loss considering they have proven against better teams that they are a good team.
Its alot harder to continue to get up for every game when you play a rougher schedule as opposed to just having to get up for 1 or 2 games a year.

Care to put up the numbers between the two?
Record? SOS? Record vs top 25 teams? Etc??

But you can make that same argument for Bama. Did they play a weaker schedule? Yes. But they didn't lose against those shitty teams, while tOSU did.
If you can't get up for every game then you put yourself at serious risk of being in the situation they are in now.

I believe that if one team has a bye, and another wins their conference championship game. The conference champion should be in. Just like a 2 win auburn team was going to get in with a win. Who did Alabama beat that warranted them such a high ranking?

quote:I'm on board with this idea. Follow the NFL, to a certain degree. Add one more "wildcard", based on the criteria that the BCS used to determine final rankings. Let's have the best of both worlds.
P5 autobids. 3 at large picked with computers.
I think what gets lost in the discussion is why did we want a playoff to begin with? We wanted to eliminate all debate on the final matchups of who would beat who based on the bowl performance. Just speaking from a pure LSU bias, I would have wanted to see LSU play USC after beating Oklahoma and play Georgia after beating Ohio State. As a tried and true football fan, who wouldn't want to see that?
So in that same line of thinking, who wouldn't want to see a team having a great year (UCF, etc) play one of the big dogs? Who knows what would happen? shite, look at Coastal Carolina in baseball and Villanova in basketball, for example. Fresno State in baseball a little while back. Those were teams that won against all odds. Again, who wouldn't want to see that?
Is that not one of the things that the playoffs should ultimately create?
Somebody on here said it yesterday, and I agree with. The current system is nothing more than the AP/UPI model of the 70's and 80's, in full disguise. It's a pig dressed up with lipstick, but still a pig. It simply gives a committee of humans a reason to sit in a room and vote on the prom queen. Oh, throw in some objective criteria - but in the end it's all subjective. I preferred the BCS over this bullshite. Good thing Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, FSU, and Notre Dame aren't that good. We might see SEC Champion Georgia squeezed out of the picture. That's about how it was with the AP/UPI method. And that's about how it is now too. The SEC is Bama and a bunch of also-rans to the committee, basically.

They lost to the #2 in the nation on week 2 and they lost in the very beginning of November. Our last impression of Bama is a loss.

way to answer my question

Posted on 12/4/17 at 10:20 am to BradL13
They are not and here’s why:
1. Wisconsin was ranked 4 ahead of Bama before that game. Why? They beat Michigan and Northwestern, both top 20 teams. Had they not played another game, they are in.
2 What’s the difference between the 2 teams? The best win Bama has was LSU. A team that was /is bad with a SOS in the forties. LSU is a bad team.
3. Wisconsin's only Loss was in their conference championship which Bama didn’t do so they couldn’t take a loss or improve their ranking. It was a very close game and a much better “loss” than Bama’s to now a 3 Loss Auburn.
4. Bama lost its only game against a team with any resume to support that ranking. Not only that, they played poorly against TAMU, LSU and MSU or to put it differently they played like they should be ranked.

You are still an idiot. Go to work and be an "expert" there.

The committee’s job is to create the match ups that will create the most money.
