Is it LSU fault that they are #1 Public University in the state?
I'd hope that they'd take the blame or credit for that.

That made no sense at all. Money is the key, spending it. ULL will never be the football power that LSU is, but there is no reason a school of that size isn't at least competing on a mid major level ie (WAC,CUSA etc..) LSU's assts. make more than 175,000 and thats not the DC's...

I don't see why LSU fans hate that so much.
We get pissed off too easily. This is one subject that does baffle me though. I've never heard of any other school's fans bitching about what another in-state school wants to call themselves.

Laughable.. I am from Lafayette. They changed every sign on campus the day after they changed the name.
Went to summer school there. They do indeed hate LSU.

Authemant didn't give a shite about sports. The atmosphere is changing, since the inception of RCAF maybe we'll see better results.

I love you people that take like 3 people that say they don't like LSU and you take that as the whole UL Community.

Oh and Robert ran that program into depths of hell. He needs to go back to high school. The cajundome sells beer during the games, there is no reason, that place shouldn't be at around 6-8000 a game and be rowdy as hell.... Its hard for a university to make money when the only fans that show up consistently are baseball and softball...

According to this logic...

Hope this helps:
LSU vs. La Tech vs. UL-L
LSU is a better university all-around. I mean, people who can't get into LSU go to ULL and SLU as a back-up if they want to stay in-state.
Calling yourself better than SLU, Nicholls, McNeese, etc. is like calling yourself the smartest kid in the special ed class.
No matter what ULL tries to do to make a name for themselves, whenever people think of Louisiana they will think of LSU, and when you remind them of ULL they'll say "ohhh.... yeah... that's right".
And the comment about sports being everything, ULL hasn't been fortunate enough to see the effect a football national championship has on applications for admission. LSU received the largest number of applications for enrollment in the history of the university in 2004 and 2008, the years subsequent to FBNC's.
With that large of applications, LSU can cherry pick the best applications out of the bunch, increasing the quality of students.

You're pretty stupid
LSU is easy as the frick to get into. The people who can't get into LSU end up failing out of UL within a year or so.

IMHO, LSU should have an in-state rival that they beat 8 years out of 10. Even when they played Tulane every year, going decades without losing to your in-state rival keeps it from being a rivalry. Unfortunately this doesn't happen overnight, and there's no Louisiana school rising to that level.
LSU will have to keeping beating themselves.

What is the big deal? chill the frick out!!! I graduated from USL (last class). My father has under grad degree from SLI, and masters from LSU. We both agree. IT DOESN'T MATTER. We still adore our tigers and pull for our cajuns! Robert Lee does suck arse, though....

BTW, I made a killing selling the first UL t-shirts out of the trunk of my car back in '79/'80.
I may restart the business when BRCC tries to change their name to LCC.

False
Maybe someone that can't pass a certain class at LSU might take it at ULL and vice versa but that statement is not true.
If you are not admitted to LSU based on an academic status you probably would not be admitted to ULL either.

So, you're just saying that these people were too stupid to get into LSU, got into ULL, and were too stupid to graduate from there?

(FROM LSU ADMISSIONS)
There are three main factors applicants must have to increase the likelihood of being accepted to LSU. Incoming freshman must have completed at least 18 units of college-preparatory classes and achieved a minimum gpa of 3.0. In addition, applicants must have a minimum SAT score of 1030 (Critical Reading and Math) or a composite ACT score of at least 22.
(FROM ULL ADMISSIONS)
Completion of the Louisiana Board of Regents' high school core curriculum and a mathematics ACT score of at least 19 (460 Math SAT) or an English ACT score of at least 18 (450 Verbal/Critical Reasoning SAT) and high school GPA of 2.5

the only people I know that went to SLU over LSU by choice was because of the cost and so they could commute from home. Everyone else went to LSU or some other university.
Posted on 4/22/09 at 2:46 pm to tigerfan in bamaland
That is correct bamaland.... Just about everyone who can get into ULL can get into LSU, its not that hard. and if ULL calling itself better than those schools = better than special ed, then whats that saying about LSU? Like I said earlier there are several universities in the state that have top academic programs in the country in different disciplines. Engineering just so happens to contain 4 of La.'s schools. They are all good academic schools.
Posted on 4/22/09 at 2:46 pm to TigerJeux
Most of the people I graduated with that didn't go to LSU went to Southeastern. Not sure if its because they were too stupid to get into LSU (ie: refused to take physics), or cost. But I guess the commute from Dinky Springs to Hammond isn't as bad as to LSU.
