UCF bear #3 Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl with a recruiting class led by Bortles that ranked #74. We also have 6 players on NFL rosters from last years team, including a 1st rounder. We are loaded with Florida speed.

True! Look at Georgia in the SEC Championship game. Kirby goes for a fake punt, his backup QB is in the game and in punt formation. DUH how dumb is that! As if Nick and his staff didn't figure that one out! Kirby lost that game and he has a ton of talent

Last year, G5 had a winning record over P5 in bowl match ups.

BSU over Oregon 1-0
USF over Texas Tech 2-0
Duke over NIU 2-1
FL St. over S. Miss 2-2
Iowa St. over Memphis 2-3
Navy over Virginia 3-3
and UCF over Auburn 4-3
So G5>P5 ?

Other than Auburn the three wins came against P5 teams with a combined record of 19-17. Tell me a time when UCF had to play consecutive games against teams like Florida, Georgia and Auburn or something similar.
It's a lot different having to get up to play physical games week after week.
I'm not saying that UCF isn't good because they plainly are talented and know how to win, but the schedule is still weak by comparison.

Of the top 79 recruits in the state, not one of them chose to attend the state’s powerhouse. Of the top 100 recruits only 2 have committed so far #80 and #97.

Because Florida is loaded with talent. It's a populous state and, like Texas and California, other programs raid the state for the abundance of good players.

The best way to beat UCF is to go full ball control on them. Nothing wears the opposing offense as much as having to wait half a quarter to get on the field

Florida kids don't grow up wanting to play for UCF. Until recently, they were an upstart proogram getting 2nd and 3rd tier recruits. Winning consistently will change that.

Miami had the same problem before Schnellenberger arrived in 1979. Before that, they were attracting kids from the Northeast and Midwest with the lure of Suntan U. South Florida kids were flocking to FSU, UF other SEC the Big 10 schools. I played with guys that went to FSU and against guys that went to Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio State, Colorado.......

Schnellenberger put up the fence around Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties and the rest is history. Once they started winning, he was eventually able to expand the recruitung base into Central Florida.

If it's so weak, then G5 teams should go undefeated all the time.
Looks like UCF is the best of the mediocre. Congrats!

2017/2018 bowl games

G5 owned the P5 4-3

Looks like you're wrong. They do.

This is exactly why the mighty gators lobbied the play-off committee to avoid UCF at all costs! Would have cost them recruiting ground.
