quote:Yeah, that's great. But who will be next? There is almost a sense of inevitability that others on the team play in the same kind of playground. And it's clear that their playmates along these threads who try to minimize their acts are playing that same game themselves. Time for some soul-searching questions - although they might be unanswerable...
The best part of this story is that none of them are on the team.
The unanswerable questions are these:
1. Are these guys pot heads and crack heads before they come to LSU?
2. Or does something in the LSU/College FB culture seem to transform them into that after they come on-board?
3. What would it take to try to filter out the thugs and druggies before they are recruited, not after, as if by attrition? Would it be as simple as a police record screening and a random series of drug screening urinalysis before a football scholly to LSU is offered?

No, they are not crack heads. WTF

It is their socio-economic background and where they are from that leads to a culture of poor decision making.

Someone who smokes weed =/= thug or a druggie.
And they drug test while they are on campus, hence Tyrann being removed and the suspensions last year.
If we didn't accept recruits that smoked weed in HS, our team would resemble a Service Academy's. Get your head out of your arse.

The situations are different, but I think the the theme will end up being same. Maurice Clarett threw his away with stupidity. First it was just being cocky and thinking he could beat the college to NFL system, and then his life started to spiral downhill because of his stupidity. Now Tyrann sounds like he's going to be another "what if" type of talent.
I hate seeing guys with such promise pissing away their chances at greatness.

My opinions on marijuana it being legalized notwithstanding, keep around the same weed smoking friends when you're supposed be turning a leaf over?
There's no helping stupid.

I literally just heard about this when I got to work and turned on the computer.

it is better to loose him before we have him back than to loose him when we are counting on him and gave a position on the team that someone else could have had. best now than later. he is and will be a looser.

As opposed to being a tighter?

he let his family down more than anyone. he will have to answer to them now and God and pretty much no one else. He has pretty much thrown away any chance of playing ball at college or pro. maybe he can play in canada.

I just found it overwhelming. It was bad enough to hear TM was involved, but moreover the reflection and perception from others about LSU. I was so mad I could spit!

we should be glad that this group of loosers didn't take down active players with them. that would really hurt the team and thank God they didn't do that.
