LSU defense gave up 24 first half points to Ole Miss with a TD given up right before halftime, 21 points (7 to Special Teams) with also a last second TD before halftime. This is a lack of poise by this LSU team and mental toughness by the offense and defense. LSU looks rattled in both games in the first half.
2nd Half, LSU defense surrenders 8 points to Ole Miss and 6 points to Kentucky. This should have been enough to win and LSU recovers from the lack of poise in the first half and plays much cleaner football. It's the offense that must be better with their opportunities.
This can be coached up! It's not a lack of talent or effort. It's a lack of mental toughness and discipline to crowd noise.
If LSU plays a complete game at Auburn, they win by 21 points or its another slug fest if they get rattled yet again.

Ole Miss wasn’t just any old road game. There was a lot of vitriol and hatred our team walked into, and I thought it took a lot of mental toughness for them not to quit and fight back the way they did.
Defense and it’s gameplan was my biggest gripe in both games. It also puts a ton of pressure on the offense when your defense can’t get stops.
Offense also held the ball for the entire first quarter and most of the second against Kentucky so they should’ve been fresh most of the game.
There is stuff to be cleaned up on offense for sure, but defense has been awful against offenses with a pulse.

This is who Lane is. He has always struggled on the road.

Defense is given to mental lapses without Weeks

Yes, the offense does need to score more points to make up for the lack of brain cells from the defensive coordinator play calling.
