It was ironic that he had to resort to lobbying the refs at the end. Seems like last year he took the dagger much better. The ref did look familiar-was he there in 2006?

The ruffing the QB call before that was bogus!
+1 million. The refs were trying their damnedest.

I thought it was funny because earlier in the same play Alem was being held. If he wasn't it most likely would have been a sack to end the game. Oh, and that definitely wasn't roughing the passer. It's BS that we were being held all night and it never was called. Other than that I thought the refs did a pretty good job.

I thought for sure Lowder's influence over the referees at AU were going to result in a flag being thrown out on that play.

Who else loved the fact the Tubberville was reduced to having to cry to the ref at the end of the game hoping for some miracle roughing call on 4th down...I took joy in watching him whine at the end..
I am not trying to be a stick in the mud and I think the guy is an a-hole but at the same time he has to defend his team. If a guy does not fight for the best interest of his team is simply not doing his job.

You are trying to be a stick in the mud and doing a good job of it...there is a difference in fighting for your team on a bad call and trying to get new life and hope a ref's call will help you...

I agree. He was trying to create a call and he wanted the refs to decide the game instead of the two teams. He is a dirt bag but at the same time I am sure his players respect the fact he fights for them as much as he can.

Considering how cocky he was during the halftime interview, seeing him whining at the end was one of the highlights of the night.
Les is now 3-1 v Tubbs.
Only 364 days until three in a row.

The ref is Pen Wagers. He was the ref last year at our Alabama game that called all the penalties on us trying to prop Saban up. Wagers is known for being BAMA's boy. The true villain in this whole SEC ref debacle is Roger Redding, SEC Head of Football Officiating and of course his protector, Commissioner Mike Slive.

Tubby should have been crying since he didn't call any time-outs on that last LSU drive. Dumb or cocky?
I was thinking the same thing, but there was time on the clock when they came up short, so that probably did not matter.
What cost him was that dumb shite 4th and 1 call. I am sure Franklin ran that by him, and his arrogant arse went with it.
