Also, not trying to be mean, but is your coach/AD/whoever schedule's your games insane?

No male dancers. That's just nasty. Our AD scheduled both LSU and Ohio State this year. Yes, it's insane. I think it's good to play tough teams so we'll be ready for conference play. I know, you laugh, but people in the sunbelt actually like sunbelt football. The bad thing is that it could cause a lot of unnecessary injuries playing both NC Title teams.

LSUBD6, those are all previous shows. This year we are playing Sing, Sang, Sung; Hernandos Hideaway, Fly Me To The Moon, and one other I'm not sure of. We march around 270. This year we should be around 325. Interest in the university and band program is at an all time high.

Troy Game
I'll be at the game with the band, in full force.

I hope Troy is bringing the Full Band, not just the traveling pep band. TGBFTL needs some serious competition. When Dan Radakovich was still at LSU, I contacted him and suggested LSU try to schedule some OOC schools that are fairly close by that have great marching bands. The four schools I suggested were Tex A + M, Southern Miss, Jacksonville State and Troy. USM, JSU and Troy all wound up on the schedule, but DIDN'T bring their bands to BR. Hope to see the full Troy band in BR.......

I think it's pretty smart, make some money and show recruits they're going to get a chance to showcase their talent on a big stage. Troy has scared the shite out of some teams the past few years, and beat a few BCS-conf teams.

TigerBandAlumnus82, the full band will be coming to Baton Rouge. It's going to be exciting. We havent had a lot of competition either, even when we travel. MTSU has the best band I've seen in person. I don't know if they brought their band last year or not. JSU is usually pretty solid, though I've never seen them.

I know the last time we played the game ended with a called back TD ending the game LSU, 24-20.

A called back touchdown? What are you talking about?

LSU scored with about 2 minutes left in the game to go ahead.
Then Troy never got passed their own 30 on the next drive before they turned it over on downs.

So don't think that Troy was robbed by the refs or anything like that.

Oh, and this LSU team is going to be 20 times better than that team just because we don't have that idiot Marcus Randall as our QB.

It may not have been at the end, my mistake, but we did have one called back. I'm not saying we got robbed, we probably did something like illegal formation or something. I was just pointing it out.

I think one big BCS team (LSU/Ohio State) and a mid-level BCS (a team like Mich St or Arkansas) would be fine, but I do see your point.

TroyTrojan05, I am actually looking forward to our game with Troy. You guys are a solid team (definitely our 2nd toughest non conference game), and FWIW, I think you guys will be tougher than two of our Big 10 games. And if we have a letdown after our big game against USC the week before, you guys can definitely beat us.

Randall had a big game that day. Troy also had a guy named Ware who ate Whitworth's lunch.

Thanks for the props, 19. We're looking forward to that game too. We have a young QB, so I'm sure your CB's will give him hell. I hear they call you guys Cornerback U.

Some do. That's a pretty good compliment. Both our CBs are returning starters (and one is a predicted top 15 draft pick this year). We also return both starting safeties from last year, so we'll see how your inexperienced QB fares.

We haven't had a full band come in to our stadium in a couple of years.

Doesn't Auburn always bring their full band when they come down? At least I thought they did last year or the previous visit. Since we're on the subject, is the full band going to Auburn or Florida this fall?

Troy has a very good band. 90% of the people in the stadium will give a shite less about how good the other teams band is. Actually I don't think many really care, or even know how to tell, how good LSU's band is.

For those that know a little about music and marching bands. Troy really has a great one.

LSU, 24-20. Any similarities between the 2004 LSU Tigers and the 2008 LSU Tigers?
