If that were the case, we wouldn't be on the top hated list of most of the other SEC schools fans.

I'll rephrase that then. Everyone in the SEC likes to keep a close eye on us.

Typical Bama fan ego. So you are saying that if any of the other 11 schools in the SEC were going through this it wouldn't get posted?

Get over yourself.

When I see other schools and coaches taking active roles in investigations of other schools besides Bama, or when you do, let me know and I'll change my mind and eat my words.

I thought you meant with us being on probation before, that the NCAA likes to keep a close eye on us. It doesn't take much to confuse me.

Np. I've been jumping around topics, I could've misstated what I meant.

just listened to finescum replay, sounds like this is not entirely a football issue but rather all of athletic programs and/or student problem, guessing not gonna be a big deal

Ball St had recruiting violations and over $26K in textbook violations and the worst they got was 3 scholarships cut and 2 years probation.

I don't think Ball St. has the history of violations that Bama has, it borders on lack of institutional control.

That being said I don't think bama should get hammered hard for this. This was done by the athletes. They should only get hit hard if its discovered that someone in the administration knew about this and didn't do anything. But you never know how this will go, its the NCAA they rarely act rationally.

That's the whole ball of wax in this. They don't do anything consistently.

As far as the investigation, I think it will fall mainly on other sports more than the football.

The NCAA and SEC office granted re-instatement for the football players after a 4 game suspension in 2007 concerning this matter. If they come back and penalize aggregiously, no school can, or should, do anything to self-report or comply with them.

You shouldn't have sold the text books.

They should, the last time you were put on probation you technically could have been given the "death penalty". NCAA hasn't given that to anyone else since it essentially destroyed SMU as a football school after they got the "death penalty".

Cheating in Bama? How unusual. Don't they have about as many probations as they have championships?
