Lsu gave Unc a hard fight last year ,and this year Unc is struggling with 7 all americans and 3 - 4* players.Seeing what trent did last year i can only imagine what he could do with a roster like Roy has.

I'm not sure now is the time to start saying things like this. John Brady also beat coach K will less superior players. Trent is a good coach, I like him, but there is no comparrision at this point

LSU would be in a bigger hole with John Brady as the coach right now imo.

First let me make clear that I find Roy to be one of the biggest two-faces in a business of two face slicksters.

But the dude can coach.

I think Trent has more character and integrity in his little finger than Roy, who I consider a phony, will ever have.

But he has to show me alot more before I start comparing him to Roy Boy. Namely he has to prove he can recruit and as it appears he will make every effort to do it in a principaled and ethical manner it won't be easy at a football school. Heck, this is the only major college in the U.S. where basketball is the third most popular sport.

Don't make it easy for a guy who quite frankly doesn't have the best recruiting track record.

I certainly hope he can make it though.

What i am saying is that between the two trent seems to do better with less talent.Flip the rosters around and how do you think each guy would do.

Honestly I've been a bit disappointed in Trent's coaching this year.

The lack of talent is unmistakeable, but there are issues beyond talent that have bothered me.

I'll leave them unsaid as I've posted many previously, but I still like the guy overall as a leader of young men and hope he can get the kids it will take.

Seriously?,

His in game adjustments and crunch time decisions are average at best. Teams seem to have above average turnovers, general lack of "team" and more individualized structure than those teams which are considered "well coached". His successes have been the result of far superior talent vs. competition. His teams also always seem to have at least 2-3 brain fart performances a season.

I'll take TJ any day of the week, and twice on Sunday over ol' Roy Boy

I just remember him coming in to the PMAC with a moderately talented Kansas team in 1989 and embarrassing LSU's uber-talented Shaq, CJ, Stanley, Maurice and Vernel bunch with back doors all night long. Of course I'll concede we had Dale.

But don't make me defend that dude...I hate his phoniness to the core.

I'll take Trent and his integrity to.

I'm not sure if Trent would do much better with what Roy has right now. That team does not seem to handle being the defending national champs at all like the team that featured Tyler Hansbrough as a freshman. This recruiting class that Roy brought in were studs coming out of high school, but for some reason thought they could walk on water. The class that came in after 2005 championship featured Hansbrough and mostly program players and they along with the rest of that team seemed to handle being the target better than this team. It did not always show in the win-loss column by Tar Heel expectations, but you never thought for a second at any point that season that they were going to fall flat on their faces like this team appears to be right now.

yea they were talented, but that was the 4th game of the season for those young guys. kansas started 3 seniors with national championship game experience (2 from kansas '88 and a guy who transferred from indiana '87) and their other 3 leading scorers were JRs.

Only time and results will make that determination. Way too early to make any comparisions.

It is really too bad we will never be able to find out if Trent > Williams because all we know is that Trent can win with Brady's players.

Too bad we got rid of Brady. Probably best coach we ever had. He and Butch were best recruiters and so much better coaching than what we have now.

I know a lot of people on the rant bashed Brady. Wonder how if feels for them to be eating their words now. Bet they are choking on them and still in denial.

And what also is so sad is all the work Brady did through severest NCAA sanctions he inherited to get us back to a great basketball program and now we will need another 5 to 10 years at best to rebuild.

Roy seems to care very little about a basketball player's character. Can anyone say Lester Earl?
