Stop getting excited about home grown QBs.

Season starters since 2005

Considered Good/Serviceable
Burrow - Transfer
Daniels - Transfer
Russell
Mettenberger - Transfer
Flynn
Etling - Transfer
Nuss

Considered bad/not serviceable/injured
Brennan
Jefferson
Lee
Harris
Jennings
Johnson

I don't know why people want to recruit a good QB out of HS. There's obviously something about this state and school that doesn't allow it to happen. Just go to the portal. It works. It got us a national title and 2 Heisman trophies.

It would be better to have a QB for more than one season.

You’re 100% right.

It very much would be better.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way here. Why? No clue. But it doesn’t.

You keep trying until it does and then turn to transfers to cover the holes until you hit.

NIL MILLIONS have changed it all, O. Whether they are homegrown or transferred in it will be money sufficient to set them up for life that determines their choice. That ship has sailed.

Regardless the NCAA will have to soon set Salary Caps lest the rich schools end competition and the game.
