Hoover and Walljasper were very dominant. To get Hoover to transfer to LSU was a great accomplishment by Torina. Walljasper developed a lot at LSU. I would say the same thing for Shelbi Sunseri. So I wouldn’t say Torina isn’t a good pitching coach. I would say she may could benefit from having someone like Rachel Fico on her staff.

We tried to get Hoover at AM...after all our academics are superior tO LSU. Was told a travel ball coach that she played with had a daughter in LSU, and he convinced her to go to LSU. Not sure LSU staff had much to do with it. Could be wrong, just a rumour we heard at AM when she went there

Until you can compete with Florida and Alabama in your own conference what is the point. These are the 2 most dominant teams in the SEC with Arkansas having a good year.
Until some changes are made you will get the same result year after year. LSU has been paired with Florida State for several years and they had the better of LSU for the most part.
If Woodward wants to compete in every sport, an overall evaluation of the program is needed.

Man. Paul hasn't officially been gone for a full day and people are jumping on bashing another coach. Who do we go after if they fire Beth? Beth is awesome but needs a new staff to shake things up.

Agreed. If we want very good every year, then we’ve been there for a while but no championships in either the regular season or SEC Tourney. CWS appearances are also evidence of a very good program but again, no championships while others in your conference have them. 3 conference teams in Florida, Alabama and Arkansas can claim regular season conference championships and 5 teams other than LSU (including Ole Miss) can claim tournament championships during Torina’s tenure while we have none. Florida and Alabama have won national championships during that span while Auburn and Tennessee have finished as national runner up one time each. We went 0-5 against Florida and Alabama this season. As you stated, what changes need to be made to get over that hump? I also believe that part of AD’s job is to help the coaches take a hard look and find the areas that need improvement and then help to make that happen.

The difference between Kilponen from 2019 to 2021 is huge. Next Season Sunseri and Kilponen will be the a top 5 one and 2 punch in the country what we didn't have since Walljasper and Hoover. Hitting has always been our problem.
