Saban was on the rise.

People also forget Saban was considered to be one of the best DC's in the NFL. One of his Cleveland defenses ranked as the second best NFL defense ever at the time.

And Bama beat Bear in his last year at Texas A&M so Bama shouldn't have hired Bear.

Saban was well known before LSU hired him. The difference you didn't have the internet and message board pumping him up. He was known among NFL circles though.

I have the 2000 press guide. It says Toledo. Kent State. Princeton.

That's all.

Emmert did his homework and Alleva and co played hookie!

I have a problem with the O hire. I'm not even going to pretend I like it even a little. But had Alleva brought in a half dozen other options along with Herman and Fisher, at least I could have faith that he actually put some effort into the search. IMO the lack of a true search is a bigger joke than the hire!

But the question is, did Saban have a bigger BINDER than O when he was at MSU?

You're a damn liar. This is from LSUSPORTS.NET:

quote:

Saban has a career win-loss record of 82-39-1 for a winning percentage of .676, a total that includes five years as head coach at Michigan State (1995-99), four seasons at LSU and one year at Toledo (1990). He also has extensive experience in the NFL, having coached the secondary of the Houston Oilers for two seasons (1988- 89) and having served as defensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns for four seasons (1991-94)

As I said, you're nothing but a damn liar.

Nice try but Saban was on NFL radar's as a HC before he even came to LSU

but again nice try. But in the end, this thread is how O's tenure at LSU will go...FAILURE
