The corporates are buying up all the tickets. You aren't going to get them fired up no matter what you pipe in. They are there to be seen and to drum up business. That is why Tiger Stadium is becoming dead. The true loyal diehard fans can no longer afford to attend the games and their tickets are bought up by the corporates. Pipe in all that junk you want, you are not getting them up off their seat unless it is to go to the buffet.

Did you play Sandstorm to get you "pumped up" for this post? Do I have Sandstorm to thank for the rhetorical genius of "sorry grandpa" and "a bunch of meh"?

Do you see the LSU players and the other's teams players during warmup when they play Soulja Boy "Crank That" or Foxx "Wipe Me Down"? Hate to break it to the 90% white crowd, but our team that is 90% black enjoys the piped in music to get pumped up too. Skip the pregame, more room for me to do the Dougie.

-1 on piped in music it doesn't help people get into the game. Its just an annoyance and makes the atmosphere worse.

It's not the piped in music..it's the pitiful busted jambox playing it..that LSU's Administration shows it's @ss.

I love this. The OP is a tasteless dumbass for his choice of words.

Anyway, my opinion: Pregame piped in is ok, and piped-in music while the band isn't available to play (right before halftime, or something like that) is great as long as its actually good music. But the band is what it's all about. I don't know how anyone could think otherwise... unless they're a newfag in TS.

I agree that the band should have never played poker face, but c'mon. Like all the others have said, go to a goddamn NFL game if you want lame piped-in pop music.

All of that is shite, give me TGBFTL anyday over that.

And I haven't written a check in years. So your "Driveman" fact is useless.

Kids who like this garbage have not been around long enough to have actually seen what "rockin" is. TS has so much potential but so many factors have taken away from that potential that I am surprised it still ranks so high on the lists of intimidating stadiums. Let's face it, a Saints pregame sucks compared to a LSU pregame. We don't need that crap when we have a great band that can play.

if i want piped in, manufactured enthusiasm I'll go to a pro sports event.

piped in music messes with the pageantry that is college football in general, and LSU football in particular.

This. It takes away the uniqueness of Tiger Stadium. We play at night, we don't bring shakers (pom pons or whatever you call those things), and until the last few years we did not need recorded music to get loud and excited. It sucks.

This. If the piped in or "canned" music fires up the crowd so much, it would seem the atmosphere in Tiger Stadium would be getting better, not worse, as so many people proclaim. It just makes LSU indistinguishable from any other school, where LSU and Tiger Stadium used to stand out as unique.
