I don't think it's fair to jump on Tangerine for his interpretation. It's a plausible idea because there was a question about possession (the ref felt the need to signal LSU ball after the play ended, for example).
I don't know that I believe he was signaling Toliver down, though. There's too much else going on if you really study the events (McCarthy is clearly signaling spike, and he's also listening on the headset; LaFell clearly got a spike signal from the bench; Miles appears to be calling for the kick team as the offense lines up - which would only make sense after a spike), but it's not like Tangerine's take on things is completely nuts.
Our coaching staff, on the other hand, is completely nuts.

you and tangerine are the only people who see it that way

People see it different from others. Can we explain why Miles was jumping up and down with his back turned away from the field?
Posted on 11/22/09 at 2:44 pm to ike221
he realized he told Jefferson to spike and realized it was to late and he knew he screwed up

quote:if you were a 19 year old inexperienced QB running (well jogging) down the field with one second left on the clock, what would you have though LM was motioning???? and it's still LM's fault for not calling for the FG in case the hail mary worked.... come on dude, you can't defend stupid...

I still think the motion was to signal down by contact, but who really knows

did miles wait 23 seconds after the catch to call for the field goal? does anyone know if he called for it earlier? video shows him doing it right before the spike.

who knows what he was thinking

The best thing Miles can do is admit he made multiple mistakes and move on. The more he tries to avoid responsibility for this mess the worse he looks. If he doesn't know how to handle something like this, he needs to call one of his fellow multi million dollars coaches and ask them. He repeatedly gave the "clock" sign.
